A walk for those who love rock scrambling, pagodas in abundance, interesting slots, ramps, passageways and even squeezy bits! Needless to say this walk has all of the above including the Ultimate View and a place which will leave you breathing hard, the birthing canal pass! Actually for this trip I'll have a tape so if you don't want to experience the aforementioned pass you don't have to and you can climb down beside it. In any case you must be prepared for plenty of offtrack walking and some scrubbashing. Although this walk goes past the Citadel it's an optional climb for those who don't want to attempt it. In any case the views along Citadel spur will blow you away. Early meetup at Capertee is essential. rock scrambling Location: Mugii Murum-ban SCA Map: Ben Bullen 89314S Limit: 12.

Ropes practise day at Mount York. This day is aimed for those who have abseiled before and have their own equipment. It will be compulsory to have a harness, helmet, safety tether, descending device for single rope. We will be practising abseiling on small pitches, gradually moving up in difficulty to an overhang. There will be breaks where we will also practise knots that are commonly used when canyoning. There will be a chance to use prussiks to climb back up a pitch and to also use mechanical ascenders. A fee of $5.00 each will be collected to cover wear and tear on ropes supplied by members. There will a number of safety briefings spread throughout the day and we will have a chance to practise tying off part way through an abseil and then untying and recommencing the abseil. We will practise double fishermans, tape knot, stone knot and munter hitch. Short lengths of knot practise rope and tape will be provided. Abseiling is a dangerous activity that could result in death or serious injury. All attendees must sign NPA's Risk Waiver Form prior to commencing the activity. All abseils are adjacent a cliff, and any member within two body lengths of the cliff edge must be attached to a safety tether. Location: Blue Mountains National Park Limit: 12.
