A chance to explore a bit of the Hacking River that none of us have paddled but should be quite straight forward. From a perfect launch site at Swallow Rock Reserve, Grays Point, we paddle upstream to the fresh water weir at Audley which is just 3 km one way. After a wonder around and possible swim we will head back to Swallow Reserve. (total 6km). If anyone is interested in extending the paddle we can check out North West Arm (Gymea Bay) for around 8km (negotiable 😉 ) Tidal. Deep water. Possible wake from motorboats. Limit: 12. View |

From the junction we will pick our way down the Nepean to Maldon. Will require car shuffle. Partly unexplored so will need to be agile. Possible need to swim/float a section. From the end of Jack's Corner Road follow Griffins Fire Trail to a track to the left. Follow this through the forest to a steep descent to the main dirt road leading to Beehive Point on Lake Yarrunga. This is a lovely picnic area and chance for a swim. Return by the main dirt road.

Medium walk along Bargo River via Potholes Track to Diesel Pass and onto See Thru Falls then Mermaids Pool. Matilda track to lookout for lunch. Optional HARD walk for extension down Rosie's Pass into and along Tahmoor Gorge. Limit 12 for the optional gorge extension.

Starting from Buxton Ave on the edge of Nattai NP, we follow a short distance on fire trails to pick up a track that leads us down to the Blue Forest in Thirlmere Lakes NP. Generally downhill with a total descent of 200m. Car shuffle required.
