Come along and explore a part of the Blue Mountains that few have ever visited as it's hidden away, although it's not that far from the beaten track. Megalong Creek is a waterfall lover's paradise with so many gorgeous cascades and falls with sculptured rocks and pools, all within a place of granite and solitude. We will also follow the Coxs River downstream to where the McKanes Falls (Bowenfels) Bridge is reached as this section of the Coxs River is also in the granite belt and has numerous falls too. All worth a photo and a swim if you're feeling in the mood. Rock hopping and off-track.

Exact details will be determined by weather and other factors. We camp near these huts but not in them so everyone needs to be fully equipped for the variety of conditions in the area. We stay at ski lodge in Jindabyne for a night on either side of the walk with our regular BBQ overlooking the lake. Always a pleasure walking in Kosciuszko area and this will feature some great scenery and bush in an area new to the leader.

Follow this track through various parks to Terrys Creek falls and on to Vimiera Park. Road walk to Eastwood Railway Station. Possible sighting of flannel flowers and other flowers in bloom during this walk. Rough and slippery track in a few spots. Creek crossings. View

There are more species unknown to the leader. Botanists  are invited to join the walk to enrich our knowledge. If you are lucky, you will see redbellied snakes. Leader: Lynne Hewitt. Join us for a tour to this idyllic island just a hop, skip and a jump from Hawkesbury River Station, Brooklyn. Upon arrival on this car-free oasis of bush, beach and tranquillity, we will be welcomed by tree-lined palms and jacarandas. On the lower grounds we'll walk past the Bowling Club and Bradleys Beach. On the higher grounds we'll get great views of the Hawkesbury River. We'll also walk past a Blackbutt – Rough-barked Apple Forest. Enjoy the scenic train ride across the Hawkesbury River and a joy ferry ride to the island. Enjoy lunch or Devonshire tea at Dangar Island Depot before taking the ferry back home. Bring money for ferry ($8.50 one way adult, $4.30 one way concession (not sure seniors are considered concession)).

Gorgeous by Day and Magical by night. It is a beautiful short round trip walk that showcases the rainforest environment on the valleys of the Blue Mountains. Very easy access, some steep steps, overhangs, footbridges over streams, lyre birds, ferns and amazing atmosphere. Fireflies . Glow worms. We walk twice, once in the afternoon and once after dark. We have a break to have dinner before we walk  to see the fly flies followed by  Glow worms. Thai/ Hotel/IGA/Sports Club/Cafe/ Petrol Station available at Springwood.  You must commit to both day and evening walks before RSVP. Bright Headlamp, preferably with red light,  with spare batteries is essential for your safety. If you arrive with no headlamp, you will be turned back. Great scenery, lovely bushland, and two of the best of the huts to camp nearby. Even better, we spend multiple days near each hut (two nights at Pretty Plain and three nights at Wheelers). Access is via Dargals and Hell Hole Trails to Pretty Plain. We return along Pretty Plain and take the shortcut across to Wheelers Hut. Return is again via Dargals Trail. At the start and end of walk we stay at a Ski Lodge at Jindabyne with the usual BBQs on the deck overlooking the lake. A lovely walk with lots of relaxing time.
