Explore the Semi Detached Point area and return along alternative tracks back to Helensburgh. Lots of variety, great coastal views, river crossings and a short off track section. Unhurried pace. Cliff edges, river crossings, slippery rocks.

Glenbrook to Emu Plains. It is uphill to Knapsack Park. Morning tea will be at the convict built Lennox Bridge (1833). From there we visit Marges Lookout with views to Penrith Lakes, before taking a rough steep track down to the old highway. We walk up this to cross the Knapsack Viaduct, another stone bridge (1865). More rough tracks before concrete paths take us across the Nepean River twice and on to Emu Plains Station. We should have photos of 10 bridges at the end. Steep and slippery sections. View

Moderate pace. Huntleys Point to Cabarita via Bedlam Bay Parramatta River Regional Park, Banjo Patterson Park, Glades Bay Park, Putney Park, Putney Punt and Breakfast Point. River views. Mostly on well formed paths through reserves and quiet streets. Steps, ups and downs, some unformed and uneven surfaces which could be slippery and muddy after rain. Walking poles might assist. Break off point available. Limit: 14. View

This is a moderate, (not easy) trail with some rock scrambling. Highlights to look out for are the river views, King Parrot, Wallaby, long neck hawk. (More information as to the meeting point will be provide to the confirmed walkers.)   Rock scrambling.

So bring your rock scrambling attitude and come along for what will be a very interesting walk indeed. Rock scrambling and off-track walking.

Starting from Scarborough Station, follow paths to Sea Cliff Bridge. A visit below the bridge might be possible. Continue along the coast and ascend track to Mt Mitchell stopping at various lookouts along the way. Follow tracks along the cliff top visiting Coalcliff Dam and Stanwell Tops. Cross road and follow  Princess Marina track to Kelly's Falls. Continue along tracks to Bulgo Knoll and end with an off track section to Otford Station. Cliff edges, creek crossings, slippery conditions. Limit: 15. View

Return up to Blackheath via Porters Pass Gully. Creek crossings. Track poor at times. Steep sections. Lots of steps. Scrambling over and under fallen trees. This is a solid walk. It feels longer than 8km. From the valley we climb over 300m in 2km.

The highlights and sights along the way include Lennox Bridge, The Gatekeepers Cottage, John Whitton Memorial, The Great River walk, Mount Sion Park, Marges Lookout. The Lennox Bridge is a heritage-listed road bridge at Mitchells Pass. It is the oldest stone arch bridge on the Australian mainland.     Steep and slippery sections. The walking circuit is accessed from the Metro Station via tracks through the Castle Hill Showground and Fred Caterson Reserve. The walk is a mixure of pave tracks, bush tracks, fire trails and streets. Track could be rough and slippery in parts. Limit: 15. View
