Day 2-Climb Jagungal with daypacks only. (Luxury).
Day 3-Walk back to cars at Round Mt. FT gate.

Attempt to find exit to Blue Mountain trail from creek (steep section). Return via existing tracks to start at North Lawson Park. The Kent St fire trail will be followed to its end and then a way found to the creek if it ends before then. At the creek either a way down stream will be found or the shorter creek passage towards Empire Pass track will be used. This is an exploratory walk to find condition of the creek and an exit from it to the Blue Mountains track. Worst case is a return back to Kent St fire trail. Numbers strictly limited and good walking fitness required. Creek crossings and wet slippery rocks. Off track section,

Section 4 is Berowra to Cowan. This  point-to-point trail starts from Berowra Station.Generally considered a challenging route. This trail is great for birding, camping, and hiking, and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Co-Leader Jenny Fisher.  We will enjoy this lovely summer walk along Kangaroo Creek's rock pools, with ample time for photos & an opportunity for a swim. There is approx. 4 kms of off-track walking with some scrambling, rock hopping, creek crossings & rock platform walking, more challenging than previously due to recent flood water damage.  This is a remembrance walk, one of the Jim series. One big climb after lunch, otherwise this is a beautiful walk.  Limited numbers. Off-track sections, rock hopping and some scrambling, 6 fairly straight forward creek crossings. A 190m, solid climb out after lunch.

Those from Sydney take South Coast train departing Central 07:29, Wollongong station change to bus No. 57 towards Shellharbour – request driver to stop north side of Windang bridge – arriving about 09:45. Walk starts at Windang bridge and finishes at Shellharbour Junction station. Part of the Great South Coast Walk  (http://greatsouthcoastwalk.net/) a long-distance walking route along the southern coastline of New South Wales, from Bundeena on the southern fringe of Sydney, to Mallacoota, just over the border in Victoria, 660km in total. Limit: 15. View

From water level below Clive Park, Northbridge the route reaches water level again at Tunks Park; it follows Flat Rock creek up to Naremburn and crosses the watershed at St Leonards, descending once again to water level at Gore Cove Reserve, Wollstonecraft. Finally it crosses the Greenwich peninsula, finishing at the ferry wharf. Steps, bush tracks may be slippery if wet, creek crossings.

Leave some cars at Danes Way, Mount Irvine and drive to Boronia Point Trail, Mount Irvine. Descend to the Wollangambe. Walk/swim/boulder/scramble down the gorge to the planned exit point at GR 629 925. Climb out and reconnect with the vehicles. Bring helmet (mandatory) and dry bags. Wet suit strongly recommended. Lilo optional. Must be able to swim well. Scrambling and exposure. About 9 km.

This is a very popular walk. The highlight of the whole walk is the incredibly picturesque Jerusalem Bay, which makes a great spot for a mid walk swim. At this time of the year, it is a wildflowers lover's paradise... Boronia, Grevillea, Tea Tree, Rice flowers, Pea flowers, just to name a few. Some rock scrambling and steep sections. Limit: 12. The swell on the day will define how far we can travel along the rocky shoreline, but we will anyway have to pay close attention to the prevailing local conditions as we scramble over sometimes slippery boulders and possibly up a steepish cliff section. Walk on streets to Lawson Park. Walking on part of Bruce's walk through Dante Glen to Kent St fire trail. The fire trail continues as a walking track to the start of a ridge that leads to the Blue Mountain creek. Following down stream with multiple creek crossings and getting wet feet. A creek from Amphitheatre Falls meets Blue Mountain at a canyon waterfall. Pause for lunch here. Exit to Blue Mountain trail from creek has steep and challenging sections. Return via existing tracks to start at North Lawson Park. Depending on time return walk may include Empire pass and falls along that track. Never the less it is a superb canyon with some of the best A grade sustained canyon in the Blue Mountains. There are long narrow dark swim-throughs of up to 200 meters as well as awkward jumps and the use tape to scramble into the canyon. The water is cold and wetsuits will be needed as well as a good swimming ability.

LOCOMOTIVE 3001 TO FEATURE AT 2023 FESTIVAL OF STEAM
Due to the requirement to book the steam train, RSVP to this event is accepted from now. In 2023, Thirlmere village will once again awaken to the enchanting sound of the steam whistle for the annual Thirlmere Festival of Steam.
From newly restored steam Locomotive 3001 and Legend of Steam Locomotive 3801 to the Southern Hemisphere’s largest operating steam locomotive Beyer-Garratt 6029, visitors will be spoilt for choice with the biggest display of historic NSW railway steam engines at this year’s Thirlmere Festival of Steam.  All locomotives listed will either feature on display in steam or operate one of the many steam train rides throughout the weekend along the historic Loop Line. Their will also be a range of smaller steam traction engines in and around the NSW Rail Museum .

The walk takes you through a variety of vegetation communities including Coachwood forests and with increasing water views. The track descends 166 metres and rises 80 metres. This is your last chance to do this track for a while, as it closes the next day for a month of maintenance. A distinct track with some steep and rough sections as well as steps, but generally easy walking.

Track is narrow in places and may be slippery if wet.

Drive in a couple of cars to the start of the walk along Kings Tableland Road. Walk along Lions Head Pass to Lions Head via Double Hill. The track is along the ridge with lovely views down to the valley below and to the hills across as well as to Spring Creek down on the other side. After Lions Head, descend on a steep track to Kadumba Valley Road and on to Kadumba Valley Camping Area. The descent/ascent to/from the valley is about 500m over about 3kms each way. Return to the cars the same way. Very steep slippery rough tracks. Limit: 15. View
