Optional off-track/rock hopping (grade 4) on to Little Target Beach and possibly beyond to Boat Harbour. Plenty of time for any number of swims if the weather is right.

Then Boardinghouse Road back to Hwy for 5 km (quite safe with wide shoulder). Up Buck’s Road (very steep) over hills and down to Pretty Beach and Kioloa. Return along quiet coast road and cycleway to start.

We then walk upstream to an excellent swimming pool on the junction with Lincoln/Monkey Ropes Creek. Spend the day swimming and stay the night at a nice campsite near the pool. Return will be a short walk along Monkey Ropes Creek and up a new track to return to the cars. This is a perfect way to spend a summer weekend.

A wonderful watery trip on a hot January weekend not far from Blackheath. Rock scrambling, cold water and a few short swims, so a wetsuit is necessary.

Park on a fire trail off Sunnyside Ridge Road and walk east to the head of a tributary of Wild Gorge. Descend it, visiting Dome Cave along the way, then explore both branches of the gorge, including Pinch Point Circle. Move south east and out towards Carne Creek, then climb out and visit Cosmic Cave. Exit via Split Rock Point and Pass. Re-connect with the cars. Scrambling and exposure.

This is an incredibly beautiful section of the upper Kowmung River populated by numerous cascades, cool refreshing giant swimming pools and slabs of pink granite which is perfect for scrambling over, sunbaking on and allowing perfect grip as you explore your way down the river. In short, having the time of your life! Add to this the real chance of bagging a wild trout and some lovely campsites and you have all the attributes for an amazing experience worthy of saluting the Australia Day weekend in style! The walk involves walking down into the deep via Megalith ridge,establishing a basecamp at a loverly grassy campsite then exploring with day packs the Kowmung river upstream into the Morong Deep and downstream too which has a completely different character. Lots of rock scrambling.

Picnic | For a mostly static outdoor activity based around a picnicWalk | A bushwalk of any kind short or long(NEW!!!) O'hara Island, Dawsons Island and Granite Rock. From the NPWS car park at Pretty Beach, walk south along the beaches and around headlands past O'Hara Island, Dawsons Island and Granite Rock (we will call it an island). Return along the beach for an evening bbq at the Pretty Beach picnic area. Bring your own meat or veg alternative and salads to share. We will organise the cooking necessities. This is an opportunity for those intimidated by the climb over Mt Durras to experience part of this iconic walk. NPWS park entry fees apply.
