|Where do you go when the heat of summer is on? A lovely coastal walk with plenty of opportunities to swim, snorkel and enjoy the dramatic scenery! One of my favourites walks along the littoral zone. Swimming in open water.

|8-10 Jan, Wed-Fri||Colo/Nepean River paddle|
|(NEW!!!) Starting with a rafting experience at Penrith Whitewater Stadium (just plain good fun). Then camping for 2 nights at Upper Colo Reserve. Day 2 paddling the Colo River. The section will depend upon water levels. Day 3 paddling on Nepean River. Either Nepean Gorge or if sufficient water from Penrith to Wallacia.
Trip combined with another club. PFD compulsory.

|Butterbox Canyon is a spectacular easy canyon to enjoy as it requires no abseils and only a few shortish swims so a wetsuit is definitely required. A wonderful watery trip on a hot January weekend not far from Blackheath. Rock scrambling, cold water and a few short swims, so a wetsuit is necessary.

|25-27 Jan, Sat (08:00AM)-Mon (15:00PM)||The Mighty Morong Deep|
|If you want the ultimate river trip you simply can't go past the mighty Morong Deep! This is an incredibly beautiful section of the upper Kowmung River populated by numerous cascades, cool refreshing giant swimming pools and slabs of pink granite which is perfect for scrambling over, sunbaking on and allowing perfect grip as you explore your way down the river. In short, having the time of your life! Add to this the real chance of bagging a wild trout and some lovely campsites and you have all the attributes for an amazing experience worthy of saluting the Australia Day weekend in style! The walk starts by following Morong Falls down into the Deep and ends by ascending Megalith Ridge back to the Kanangra Plateau. Lots of rock scrambling.
