|Join us for one or more of the special events associated with the NPA NSW State Council meeting being hosted in the Illawarra at Mt Keira Scout Camp.
Saturday afternoon 30th – NPA members are invited to attend a 1 hour presentation on the Upland Swamps of the Sydney Region by renowned local expert, author and NPA member Ann Young. A great chance to learn about what we all see at Maddens Plains each time we drive to or from Sydney.
Sunday morning 1st – choice of walks with complimentary morning tea.

|30 Jun, Sat||Wentworth Falls to Katoomba|
|Follow paths and road to Conservation Hut. Descend and cross Lillan Bridge. Follow tracks past the Fairmont Resort, Prince Henry Track, Leura Forest and the Federal Pass. Ascend the Furber Steps and finsih on roads adn paths to Katoomba Station.

|4 Jul, Wed||Wentwort Falls Circuit|
|From Wentworth Falls Station follow Darwins Walk then descend to Wentworth Falls. Continue down Slacks Stairs and along Wentworth Pass. Branch off to Roberts Pass and ascend to Inspiration Point with good lookouts. Walk past the Fairmont Resort and follow the Nature Trail back to Wentworth Falls.

|Walk Mt Alexandra Reserve and edge of Nattai NP to 40’ Falls and Boxvale Lookout and return. A nice varied walk in the "wilderness" close to town.

|(Date Changed) Illawarra Escarpment Traverse. From Stanwell Park Station follow the Wodi Wodi Track. Side trip to historic railway viaduct. Ascend Mt Mitchell, great lookouts, and follow the forest path. Continue south along the link track to Sublime Point. Steep descent with some ladders to road and on to station. View|

|From Engadine Station to Bundeena via the Engadine Track, crossing Kangaroo Creek, Audley, Winifred and Anice Falls, Cabagge Tree Basin. Finishing with rock platforms (tide permitting) to ferry terminal.

|15 Jul, Sun 8:30AM||Mount Keira to Mount Kembla|
|Walk from Byarong Park through eucalypt and rain forests to Mount Kembla Lookout via Robertsons Lookout, Staffords Farm and Mount Kembla Ridge. Mostly on tracks and fire trails. Wide views of Illawarra coastline. One steep off-track section, loose underfoot.

|A new walk with lots of variety. From station ascend Goat Track to Stanwell Tops. Proceed to Princess Marina Track and Kelly Falls. New off-track section section and road to Otford Lookout. Follow link track to Bald Hill and descend to follow faint track along coast line. Short section of coast rocks and then off-track section to Bulga. Ascend to road and finish at Otford Station.

|Walk from Meryla Road down Meryla Pass (an old access road linking Moss Vale and Kangaroo Valley) stopping at Griffins Farm and on to Yarrunga Creek and return. Good views of forests and gorges towards Kangaroo Valley.

|Our third creek exploration from the mouth to the escarpment, walking on paths, roads and through parkland. Collins Creek has been extensively modified and redirected through the suburb of Woonona, but we can still trace its path through various stages of urban development. Possible overgrown and boggy sections.

|Join in on Illawarra’s annual excursion to the Little Forest Plateau section of Morton NP. Mt Bushwalker, Gadara Point and Ngaityung Falls. The easiest way to enjoy the vista of the Budawang Ranges – a wilderness experience. Some scratchy sections.

|22 Aug, Wed||Wentworth Falls to Leura|
|Start at locked gate on Kedumba Valley Road. Descend to Jamison Creek and then long ascent on Sublime Point Trail. Lots of ups and downs with numerous stairs towards Leura. Good fire trail walking with great 360° views taking in Mt Solitary, Kedumba Walls and the Three Sisters. Finish at Leura Cascades Car park.

|5 Sep - 7 Oct, Wed-Sun||Slovenia and Croatia Hiking and Cycling|
|(Fully Booked) A trip to Slovenia and Croatia from 5 Sept to 7 Oct 2018. Need to be able to do the entire trip and to carry a 10-12 kg pack for 5 days in the Julian Alps in Slovenia, staying in hotels and mountain huts. This hike commences and finishes in Bled and is medium difficulty involving a 11km, 620m ascent; 10.5km, 1100m ascent; 11km, 700m descent; 8.5km, 340m ascent and a 18km, 1200m descent. There are two cycles. The first one is from Ljubljana in Slovenia to Porec in northern Croatia. Cycling for 9 days with daily distances from 35km to 57km. The second cycle is in the islands of Kvarner Bay in the northern Adriatic. It is a cruise and cycle covering 5 islands with cycling distances between 21km and 45km, difficulty grade 2 to grade 4. These dates for those who have not been on the trip before or it’s a long time since you’ve been - the usual series of walks. It’s the 21st anniversary trip to the western slopes of the Snowy Mts and northern Kosciuszko NP. Camp or cabin at caravan park. Day walks and exploring the region while learning about Snowy Hydro Scheme, Hume and Hovell and the impact of wild horses. Own transport or find a buddy. Will be some dirt road driving to walks.
