![]() (NEW!!!) We start off 2026 with some fairly shady walks. Today we will walk through tall trees of smooth apple gums & red blood woods to the picnic & swimming ground of Bobbin Head. Then we wind through the thick mangroves of the Warimoo track to take us to the Sphinx & pyramids. Here we have the options of finishing at the Sphinx, or walk back to Mt Colah via the Chase trail. Keep an eye out for Aboriginal middens as you walk. Tracks are moderately challenging. Slippery & wet rocks & creeks surfacesLocation: Mt kuring- gai NP Map: Mt Kuring-gai Limit: 20. View |

![]() ![]() ![]() (Fully Booked - Ask leader about waiting list) Corkscrew canyon is in the upper section of South Bowen creek drainage system and is a relatively easyish canyon to do as it does not involved any abseils or long swims but rewards the curious hiker with stunning constricted passages, sculptured clifflines, gorgeous cascades and pools and the chance to see an area not all that often visited. Helmet, wetsuit, drybag and a PFD required for those who aren't competent swimmers. rock scrambling and offtrackLocation: Wollemi NP Map: Mt Wilson Limit: 12. View |

| Grade:4/6 | Length | 10km | 450m | Sydney Branch | |
| Mark G. | |||||
![]() Morong creek with its series of spectacular cascades and falls is one of the gems of the Kanangra Boyd National Park and on this walk we will follow its downward path as it plummets down to the Kowmung river. If its going to be a hot day we may not go all the way down to the Kowmung river but swim in the many pools created by the creek. As this is a reasonable drive from Sydney, participating hikers may prefer to stay in Oberon the night before. rock scramblingLocation: kanangra boyd national park Map: Shooters Hill 88302S Limit: 12. | 28 Feb, Sat 8:00AM | Dargans Canyon
| Grade:4/6 | Length | 4km | 100m | Sydney Branch | |
| Mark G. | |||||
(Updated Details) If you are relatively new to canyoning and you want a really fun one to do which doesn't involve abseiling then Dargans Canyon is hard to beat! There are a few shortish swims and some scrambling down short sections of tape which are fairly easy and then there's the exit! This involves a scramble up a tree with spikes which sounds difficult but really isn't! Of course I'll set up a safety line before we climb the tree. Participants will need a wetsuit, helmet, waterproofed pack and if not a competent swimmer, a PFD. rock scrambling and slippery conditionsLocation: Wollemi NP Map: Lithgow 89313S and Wollangambe 89312S Limit: 12. | Grade:4/6 | Length | 50km | 2,200m | Sydney Branch
| Richard T. | |||||
(Fully Booked) A repeat of last year's walk which was just awesome; one of the very best in Kosciuszko area. Email for an information pack about the walk. A six-night full pack walk involving Daveys Hut, Kidmans Hut, and Mawsons Hut. Exact details will be determined by weather and other factors. We camp near these huts but not in them so everyone must be fully equipped for the variety of conditions in the area which can be very variable. We stay at ski lodge in Jindabyne for a night on either side of the walk with our regular BBQ overlooking the lake. We need some suitable cars in order to access the start of the walk. Always a pleasure walking in Kosciuszko area and this walk has everything: magnificent scenery; lovely bush; great campsites; and some challenging walking. Not to be missed! ![]() A walk with history and lots of pagodas and stunning views! We start our hike along the Tramway trail, passing various old miners dwellings now being overtaken by nature and head west until the trail ends and we then follow the ridge along to Blacks Corner. Sounds deceptively simple but along the way we will encounter more pagodas and slots than you can imagine as well as some almost parkland sections of grassy lomandra until we reach our objective, Blacks Corner. ![]() ![]() What this walk lacks in distance it more than makes up for in terms of variety and pure enjoyment as there is much to see and savour in this not often visited part of Wollemi national park. Along the way you'll encounter some of the best and largest swimming holes you could hope to find, gorgeous waterfalls and cascades and stands of towering trees in a rainforest environment. Add to these features, some extraordinary tafoni enriched sandstone caves, rock wells to play in and a hellva lot more.
