Canyon | A trip through a canyon (a gully surrounded by tall cliffs).Hat Hill canyon is a spectacular and relatively easy canyon with only 3 short swims and no need of a lilo although a wetsuit is recommended.Ive tried to lead this canyon on 2 previous attempts in 2020 but the weather was against us so lets hope the sun is out for us this time. Slippery rocks and creek walking.

Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or long(Nearly fully booked) Starting at the old Katoomba Falls Kiosk, walk down Furber Steps to Federal Pass and then passing Scenic Railway to Ruin Castle Track and Ruin Castle (possibly do the full circuit) and return the same way. Will change the walk if the Golden Stairs is open by then. Cars required for car shuffle. Walk maybe cancelled if very hot weather is forecast.
Steep and slippery sections, some sections of eroded track, many steps, creek crossings.

Off-track walking, unfenced edges, slippery rocks, creek/river crossings, bites, stings, wet feet, environmental conditions.

Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longFIRST LOOP, Early start due to tides. Best to travel by own transport. Meet at the parking area opposite Otford Pie Shop then follow cliff track to Bald Hill. Descend to Stanwell Park and follow a faint track and rocky shoreline to Snake Gully. Ascend and follow off-track section to Bulgo Beach. Return to Pie Shop on well-formed track.
SECOND LOOP, follow coast track and descend to the Hell Hole, Werrong Beach. Ascend on an old indistinct track to Werrong Point and lookout. Return to the station via the coast track visiting Split Rock Canyon along the way. Relaxed pace.

Continue along coastal paths and ascend to the Wodi Wodi Track and Mt Mitchell. Options to explore Stanwell Creek visiting Viaduct and upper levels. Relaxed pace. Slippery conditions, exposed ledges, cliff edges, creek crossings.

Park some cars at the end of the walk, drive back along Mt Hay Rd and start at the corner of Mt Hay Road and Fortress Ridge Trail, walk past Fortress Rock Lookout, the Cave and Waterfall to the Fortress Ridge Lookout, turn around, on the way back turn into Fortress Canyon Entry Track, cross Fortress Creek, then along an indistinct track to the Lockleys Pylon Track on to Lockleys Pylon, and then walk back to Mt Hay Road. Steep and slippery sections, creek crossings, scrambling uphill on indistinct track and possible fallen trees across track.

This will be a 4 day full pack walk far from the maddening crowds of Easter to an area of wild rugged beauty full of complex ridge systems, a multitude of pagodas, superlative views and comfortable campsites with the odd camp cave thrown in. Gaze at the stars at night and warm yourselves around the campfire and enjoy the splendid isolation of this rarely visited area not all that far from Sydney's doorstep. People interested in this walk should be used to offtrack walking. Rock scrambling and off-track walking.

Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or long(NEW!!!) Joint leader Sheila Walker. From Narrow Neck Track head down a natural pass on a late 1800s miner's route. The track leads down to the old Glen Shale Mine from where there is an old overgrown tram line which connects to the Devils Hole Track and the climb to the chock stone at the finish of the Devils Hole. Car shuttle will be required. Please let me know if you are driving. Steep and slippery sections, rock scrambling, some narrow exposed ledges, steep descent and creek crossings.

Part of the Great South Coast Walk  (http://greatsouthcoastwalk.net/) a long-distance walking route along the southern coastline of New South Wales, from Bundeena on the southern fringe of Sydney, to Mallacoota, just over the border in Victoria, 660km in total.   As part of Parramatta to Shoalhaven Heads, we walk from Otford to Stanwell Park via Bald Hill, Stanwell Park Beach, Stanwell Creek, Wodi Wodi Track  and possibly Kelly's Falls. Social distancing, sanitizer, mask. Steep and slippery sections, some rock clambering.

Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or long60 Best walks | This is one of the NPA's 60 best walks.We start at the Prince Henry Cliff Walk, then walk down the Furber Stairs and along the Federal Pass walking track where we will access Mt Solitary, which has been out of bounds for over a year due to the previous fires of last summer. Then over the top of Mt.Solitary, down the Col and over the Kedumba River before we climb up onto the Kings Tableland where we finish the walk. This is a big walk with 2 decent climbs but all on tracks. Anyone contemplating this walk should be fit as this is definitely not a bludge walk by any means! Rock scrambling up onto Mt Solitary.

The Great North Walk is a 250 km walk from Sydney to Newcastle along bush tracks. The Sydney to Wondabyne walks were completed in 2019. Section 1 from Wondabyne is on 2 May 2021. Sections 2 to 8 will be continuous day walks from Saturday, 08 May to Friday, 14 May 2021 staying overnight en-route; at farm stay for 2 to 4 nights, possibly staying at a cabin site for 2 nights, in a pub/hotel for 2 nights and at a caravan park for 1 night. To start the walk, all walkers will assemble at Misty Mountain Farm Stay site by nightfall on Friday, 07 May for an early start on Saturday, 08 May. Car shuffles will be required for all sections and participants will need to come in a car with no more than 1 other participant. Daily walks range from 11 km to 20 km and the walk rating are 3 and 4. Rough track, steep, rough, rocky and slippery sections, creek crossings, fallen trees and unfenced cliffs.

Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longWell one of the classic walks is back on the table and there's no better time to do this challenging trip than in the cooler months when the air is fresh and clear and the views seem to last forever! I'm itching to see what the Grose Valley looks like at Blue Gum forest as well as in what condition, these 2 famous connecting tracks are in, so come and join me for what should be a wonderful walk. Steep descent and ascent and possibly loose rocks.
