RSVP and head torch are a MUST. This is Sydney’s premier coastal walk, taking us through the world’s second oldest national park, the
magnificent Royal National Park. Our starting point is the village of Otford, at the southern end of the RNP. Our aim is to arrive in Bundeena by about 8:15am, to ensure we catch the first ferry of the day, the 9am service to Cronulla.
Type of walk: This is a full night time adventure filled with great natural beauty, coastal tracks, a rich
diversity of pristine eco-systems and abandoned beaches. There are some moderate climbs.
Difficulty: Hard, because of the distance and as we must concentrate for the night walking. We will be winding through forest, up and down headlands and crossing long beaches. A good level of
fitness is definitely required.
There are No get out points for this walk. If you attend you must finish the entire walk. Transport back is by ferry across Port Hacking to Cronulla Railway Station for the 45 minute service back to the city. All transport is Opal Card, except the ferry.
What to bring: Good walking shoes/boots, 2-3 litres of water, two snacks and one late night meal,
light rain jacket. A headlight and spare batteries are essential. Hazards: Steep and slippery sections. Location: Royal NP Map: Royal NP Limit:10. T: From: 11 Jan 2020, 10:33PM |
