|Mt Jellore is an outstanding landmark in the Southern Highlands. The walk follows a fire trail through private property to Mt Jellore. Stokes and O’Hares Creeks enclose a succession of idyllic waterholes, three of which are accessed on this delightful walk. Keep looking up for those koalas! It's December and beautiful waterholes so bring your cossies 🙂 Well formed tracks/fire trails. One steep section of track. Some clambering down sandstone near swimming holes.

|The justifiably famous Wollangambe Canyon is a delight especially as we float through its wonderfully sculptured narrow confines on our lilos admiring the spectacular scenery including a short detour up Crayfish Canyon. There is no abseils in this canyon but being able to swim is important and a lilo/portable raft is essential. Rock scrambling and deep water so lilo is necessary.

|(Fully Booked - Ask leader about waiting list) This will the 9th lodge based bushwalking trip I have lead staying at the very comfortable Southern Alps Ski Lodge at Charlotte Pass doing day walks in the wonderful Kosciuszko National Park. We will explore many of the alpine tarns, ridges and peaks and enjoy the expansive wildflowers that you get at this time of the year. The lodge has a commercial style kitchen and all the rooms are twin share with ensuites. People coming on this trip often cook in groups as it is easier, practical and more fun but not compulsory. As usual, there will be 3 other leaders so people interested in a walk with have several choices each day! Some off-track walking and rock scrambling on some of the walks, and potential for extreme weather.

|If you want the ultimate river trip you simply cant go past the mighty Morong Deep! This is an incredibly beautiful section of the upper Kowmung River populated by numerous cascades, cool refreshing giant swimming pools and slabs of pink granite which is perfect for scrambling over, sunbaking on and allowing perfect grip as you explore your way down the river. In short, having the time of your life! Add to this the real chance of bagging a wild trout and some lovely campsites and you have all the attributes for an amazing experience worthy of saluting the Australia Day weekend in style! The walk starts by following Morong Falls down into the Deep and ends by ascending Megalith Ridge back to the Kanangra Plateau. Lots of rock scrambling.

|(Fully Booked - Ask leader about waiting list) Walls of Jerusalem to Lake St Clair, Tasmania. This is my favourite long walk that I have ever done and on my 5th visit to the superlative Walls of Jerusalem, we will explore the many wonderful aspects that this area has to offer over several days. Then we travel down past the Great Lakes of Adelaide, Meston and Junction to the interestingly named Never Never and the Mersey River which we follow through to the Overland Track at Harnett Falls. From this point we go south then north into Pine Valley for 2 days of magic, climbing the Acropolis, the Labyrinth and other scenic gems. Finally, there is an easy walk down to Lake St Clair for a ferry ride to Cynthia Bay and a pickup with bushwalkers transport back to Hobart. Rock scrambling and a bit off track walking in the Never Never, potential extreme weather.

Saturday a decent walk to be announced. Saturday night help celebrate Paul Webster's 70th and sit around the camp fire. Sunday smaller walk or explore the ruins. For those not wishing to walk, Newnes is a great place to spend a lazy day. Cost is approx. $100 per person for both nights. Bring a plate to share for each of the evening meals. |(Fully Booked - Ask leader about waiting list) A lovely pack walk on the Thorsbourne Trail on Hinchinbrook Island in Queensland. This is one of Queensland’s Great Walks and is a wonderful mixture of rainforest and beaches. Some great campsites; some nice swimming holes; mostly short days; with at least one 2-night stop, all make this a really terrific walk. There is great demand for the limited walk permits at this time of the year so we need to book close to the possible one-year in advance. Seven days (6 nights) of actual walking. A day of snorkeling on the reef prior to the walk is also planned.
