We bet you’ll find something new and accessible by public-transport too in this presentation by Ian Napier, President of The Walking Volunteers! Hear how they amazingly achieved the mapping and coordination of a new walk through Sydney called The Great West Walk.
Great North and South Walks
Did you know that Garry McDougall created The Great North Walk along with Leigh Shearer Heriot? They put 7 years into finding, mapping and promoting the Great North Walk to local councils. The walk idea was initiated by Leigh's desire to walk the length of the Lane Cove river valley. Garry liked the idea and thought, why not go all the way to Newcastle? Garry is now working on a Great South Walk from Sydney to Canberra. Another reason to seek him out at 7pm Tuesday night, 19th November at Redfern Town Hall Small Hall on the top floor.
