Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longHigh above the Newnes Campground is Old Baldy, a massive set of cliffs named by rock climbers and within its rocky face is the Skywalker Traverse, along a series of ledges and overhangs. This is a great walk and not that difficult although it does entail some scrambling, mainly off-track walking, but certainly worth it. Rock scrambling.

Fabulous views from Burramoko Head and a nice off-track walk to Crayfish Ck and Burra Korain Ridge. The downside is the road walking. Graded a 4 due to the off-track section. Fire trail, track, off-track with mild scrub, easy creek crossing.

Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or long60 Best walks | This is one of the NPA's 60 best walks.(NEW!!!) Springtime is upon us and this walk will showcase a bounty of wildflowers that only the Sydney sandstone region can achieve! We will follow the eastern side of Girrakool Creek down over Piles Creek before heading south over Scopas Peak, then the Hawkesbury Track, the old Woy Woy Road, past the scout camp and back along the western Girrakool circuit back to the start. Expect lots of scenic lookouts, beautiful waterfalls, and of course a mass of wildflowers including Waratahs which should be coming into bloom.

The original inhabitants of the Canoelands area were the Darug people. The Darug were the custodians of the majority of what is now the Greater Sydney region. They were divided into a number of different 'clans', whose quick demise upon European settlement has sadly resulted in very little information remaining on how they utilised the local area. This is a very popular walk. The highlight of the whole walk is the incredibly picturesque Jerusalem Bay, which makes a great spot for a mid walk swim. At this time of the year, it is a wildflowers lover's paradise... Boronia, Grevillea, Tea Tree, Rice flowers, Pea flowers, just to name a few. Some rock scrambling and steep sections. Limit: 12. This year, the weekend will be dedicated to the memory of our good friend Jim Romanowski. After last year’s weekend, Jim twice asked to make it an annual event, so here it is. Drive to Newnes on Friday afternoon, share accommodation in the comfy and fully equipped Newnes cabins, or stay in the five-star camping ground. Friday night, the famous ukes will be back for a sing-along out the front of the pub. Saturday, a range of walks will be offered with various grades and leaders, the Glowworm Tunnel with a small canyon will be one. Saturday night includes surprise entertainment on the grassed area outside the pub including a toast to Jim. Sunday morning sleep-in then walk to the top of Mystery Mountain for brunch, great views and pagoda exploring. For those interested, a walk around the ruins on Sunday afternoon is available. Cost is approximately $120 pp for both nights in a cabin or $50 for a campsite. Leftover money will be donated equally to The Shepherd Centre and The Colong Foundation. Walks grades 3 and 4. View

To mark the anniversary of "Crossing the Blue Mountains 2020", we will do the "Magical Wentworth Falls to Lawson via Bruces Walk" again. Begin with the Maple trees lined streets of beautiful Wentworth Falls. It’s a memorable walk with wildflowers galore (Waratahs, Bearded Orchids, Sun orchids, Caladenia, greenhoods) waterfalls, caves, gum forests, sassafras’s forests, birdlife and majestic views. This walk is not for you if you don’t like creek crossings (5), steep climbs and vertical ladders (4). Steep and slippery sections, slides and rock scrambling.

The Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan showcases Australian flora amongst 416 hectares of rolling hills, lakes, lawns and gardens. In the late 18th century, the discovery of a new continent filled with exotic plants unknown to the rest of the world created waves of excitement in the field of botany. The Australian Botanic Garden displays approximately 2000 of these plants via themed gardens across the site as well as the Connections Garden, a four-hectare intensely cultivated space right in the heart of the Garden. Other features of the Garden include a restaurant, visitor centre with gift shop, free gas barbecues and acres of Cumberland Plain Woodland to explore. Comes September, the paper daisies become an attraction for visitors. Various species of Waratahs will be flowering too. After seeing the floral display, we will walk to the Sundial, Mount Annan Peak, the Bule Tree before leaving the Garden to visit Lake Yandel'ora before catching the bus home. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prA-sCPA7rM
