The track unravels through a mix of bushland and harbourside trails and series of short tracks crossing between stunning beaches, bays and inlets in North Sydney. Highlights of this walk

Over the course of the walk you will come across
  • The pristine bushland of Sydney Harbour National Park
  • An abundance of spectacular views of the harbour
  • An old Naval Base
  • Tiny harbour beaches where you can take a swim
  • A nude beach
  • Several cafes and restaurants at Chowder Bay
  • The Sydney Harbour Marine Institute where you can learn more about the Harbour
If the tide is low when we finish at Balmoral, we may extend to The Spit along the waterfront. In that case, the walk will be 17 km. Limit: 12. View

This section takes us via the spectacular Minnamurra river entrance then headlands, beaches and rock platforms to Kiama harbour and Blowhole. steep and slippery sections. Limit: 12. View

Descend south towards Blacksmiths Creek, then follow it as far as it keeps our interest, perhaps till GR 712 959. Exit up the spur back to the trail and the cars. Exploratory. About 8 km. Scrambling and exposure.

Today we walk CALEYI TRAIL , Deep Creek Valley Trail and continue along the Narrabeen lagoon to the Tramshed. CALEYI TRAIL is named after Caley’s Grevillea, a medium to tall shrub that is only found in an 8km square area that includes Belrose, Ingleside and Terrey Hills/Duffys Forest). As we are now closer to spring, expect to see wildflowers, grass trees, ferns and eucalypts. There is a wide rock platform and some interesting sandstone formations. There are some nice views over the GARIGAL NATIONAL PARK.  Near the trail are carvings of two kangaroos, one of which has a spear in its back (described by WD Campbell).  Where the track meets Deep Creek, the creek cascades over the rocks and drops into a small pool below. Steep and slippery sections, some parts a bit rugged, creek crossing

Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or long(NEW!!!) Find out why this part of the Gardens of Stone region must be protected for future generations. Park the cars at GR 263 186 on Moffitts Trail. Walk to about GR 276 193 and climb north to explore several pagoda ridges, before crossing into Gardens of Stone NP to visit Palatine Rock and Tarpeian Rock with their spectacular views.  Then on to the amazing Pagoda Maze, best part of which is located in the State Forest and is therefore unprotected. About 10 km. Scrambling and exposure.

Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or long(NEW!!!) Park at GR 415 150 on Glowworm Tunnel Road. Walk north east, initially on the old firetrail to spot heights 1004 and 1002. Turn north, then east and make our way to the cliff edge at about GR 397 160. From here, commence exploration of this dissected terrain going south. There is much to see and do before we reach the point GR 410 144 above the Flying Carpet. This is likely to be two walks. About 8 km. Exploratory. Scrambling and exposure.

Spread across 6 acres, the garden packs a lot in with a little bit of something for everyone. This walk will be easier than my Neighbourhood Walk with less steep climbs. Stairs and slippery sections.

We will also follow the 40 Foot Track down to the river on the return leg and then back over Mt Alexandra to the finish. Track steep in places.

Spend the late afternoon exploring Gerroa.

Today walk via beach and bush on part of the Great South Coast Walk  (http://greatsouthcoastwalk.net/) a long-distance walking route along the southern coastline of New South Wales, from Bundeena on the southern fringe of Sydney, to Mallacoota, just over the border in Victoria, 660km in total. With low tide Seven Mile Beach is a very easy, very nice walk on hard sand.

This is an extra day walk to follow the last leg of the Parramatta to Shoalhavens series. As we are staying overnight on Saturday 7th Aug to walk the Seven Miles Beach, we will stay another night to do another day of two short walks: The Drawing Room Rocks near Berry and Bomaderry Creek near Nowra. Great views of the NSW south coast. Looking out over Berry, 7 mile beach and Jervis Bay & on a clear day can see pigeon house mountain & the lighthouse at point perpendicular. The climb to the plateau is challenging. Rocky terrain, steep and slippery sections Limit: 10. View

Cross over Glenbrook Creek beyond Kanuka Brook and make way down to the Sand Hole. Exit here and follow trail back to Station St and on to Glenbrook. Cross Glenbrook Creek a couple of times. Steep but interesting climb up from Sand Hole. Walking beside Glenbrook Creek is rough going at times.
