This walk has a mix of well formed tracks, poorly maintained ones and degraded to non existent ones. Cliff top views and well vegetated areas with a short canyon and waterfalls.     Cliff edges, slippery rocks, eroded tracks.

Thirlmere Lakes National Park contains five connected freshwater lakes on a horseshoe bend in an old river valley and set in some delightful bushland. In fact it is part of the Greater Blue Mountains UNESCO World Heritage area. When walking, keep an eye out for animals. Booking essential giving your NPA, mobile and emergency contact numbers, unless I already have them. Drivers wanted as this will determine how many we can take. It is Bank Holiday. Possible muddy sections and illegal bike use.

A rough fire trail leads out to a trig point overlooking Kangaroo Valley.  On the return, a sidetrack leads out to Brown Mountain lookout for views over the south coast.  Aboriginal rubbings are seen on both tracks. Rough track, unfenced cliff edges, slippery after rain

Walk along Victory track to Perch Ponds, then join the Magdala Gully Track and at Magdala Falls, walk to the lookout at the end of Yondell Avenue Extension Track and then fire trail, bush track and road walking to Springwood Station. Steep and slippery sections, 2 km off-track section.

After a break for morning tea we'll return through the forest to Turramurra. Sheldon Forest is a pocket of bushland located in a narrow valley between Turramurra and Pymble. There will be some street walking getting to and from the forest. Steps, rocks, slippery sections of track. Traffic on street sections.

On this circuit we will visit the various lookouts including Cooks Nose which has spectacular views over Foxground valley. Expect lots of flower stops and for those birdwatchers amongst us we may even spot the elusive ground parrot or eastern bristle bird.

Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longPublic Transport | There are public transport options to and from this activity.(Fully Booked - Ask leader about waiting list) This walk came from having walked to the end of two tracks at the end of fire trails, then looking at a map and seeing how close they are with a creek in between. Blue Mountain Creek is joined by following Kent Street fire trail to its end then following the spur down to the confluence of Blue Mountain Creek with the creek from Empire Pass Track. Continuing down the creek with multiple crossings, and wet feet, to the confluence with a creek from Amphitheatre Falls. Explore the canyon and unnamed falls. Exit the creek valley by a series of passes through the sandstone cliff line and up the spur to the end of Blue Mountain track. Track joins North Lawson fire trail and then walk back to Lawson via Empire Pass track. Blue Mountain Creek is lined with lush rain forest and ferns and is seldom visited. No track through this section.     Creek crossings and off track sections. Wet and slippery rocks. Rock scrambling using a tape.

Starting from Buxton Ave on the edge of Nattai NP, we follow a short distance on fire trails to pick up a track that leads us down to the Blue Gum Forest in Thirlmere Lakes NP. Generally downhill with a total descent of 200m. Car shuffle required. Uneven and possibly slippery track in places. Mostly downhill.
