Leaving the fire trail there are a couple of steep gullies to negotiate before joining an old fire trail and then a bush track leading to the escarpment. Wildflowers are prolific and the view is spectacular. Steep rough track, slippery creek crossing, fallen trees, unfenced cliff edges. NOTE: Sections of this track have become quite overgrown. The walk starts at the CBA Stadium on O'Connell Street. It continues along Parramatta River to beyond the Gas
Works Bridge. There are numerous points of interest along the way. At Elizabeth Farm, an interesting guided tour
of the cottage is provided. It is free but there is a shop attached where you can make a donation and/or a purchase.
Next is Hambledon Cottage which does have a $10 entry fee, followed by Experiment Farm, also with an entry
fee. Bring: morning tea and lunch. Option: Coffee in Parramatta to finish the walk. It is recommended that we
book our visits. Essential if the group exceeds 20. Please advise ASAP if you plan to come.

NPA members who choose to come by Ferry or Train to Parramatta, can join Wanderers and NPA Walkers who begin at the CommBank Stadium, at the Ferry Wharf. We'll be at the Ferry Wharf about 25 minutes into the walk.

From the Little Forest car park, we follow the refurbished track out to Rusden Head. Most of the wetter areas are now boardwalked. Along the way we will visit ‘The Carriages’, a truly unusual overhang (the less agile will need to just peek in from above) with stunning views across the valley, then back to waterfalls below Porters Creek Dam.
