Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longThis unique area, part of the Gardens of Stone region, has an active coal mine underneath it. Find out why it must be better protected for future generations. Park cars on the Genowlan Mountain Trail, walk to Genowlan Trig. From there, head south east to the cliff line and follow it north east. Descend at around GR 265 319 below the cliffs, then traverse south west and enter Suspended Barbican from the northeastern side. Walk through Suspended Barbican, descend on the southwestern side and climb through Ultimate Chute to regain the cliff tops. From here, walk back to the cars. Scrambling and exposure. About 10 km.

Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longAbove Carne Creek are a series of spectacular caves, Weather, Rain, Gemini, Micheangelo and Twin Arch to name a few, and they are all worth visiting. Below these via the aptly named Miracle Slot are outcrops of superb pagodas, the Pyramid Rocks also worth exploring. This isn't a long trip distance wise but it will excite and delight you! Rock scrambling and off-track. I've had this walk on the program on 2 previous occasions and I was thwarted both times in doing this trip because the Glowworm Tunnel Road was closed. I'm hopeing that this will be 3rd time lucky! Off-track walking and rock scrambling.

It ascends and descends several flights of steps on both sides of Spit Bridge. The walk follows the beginning of the Spit to Manly route as far as Clontarf, then climbs steps to Balgowlah. It crosses to Seaforth to enjoy a breathtaking view of Spit Bridge before descending via steep steps to the Bridge. On the Beauty Point side of the Bridge the walk follows waterfront bush tracks to Quakers Bay before climbing and crossing Spit Road. It descends via sets of steps to Chinamans Beach and finally climbs up to bushland for an alternative view of Spit Bridge. Steep flights of steps.

Incredibly rugged and populated by more pagodas,slots and ravines and superlative viewing points than you can possibly imagine it will keep the adventurous bushwalker focused and delighted for as long as youre hearts desire. Accommodation will be in the very comfortable Royal Hotel for the 3 day walks in MMB. Rock scrambling and off-track sections with very few tracks.

Climb north up the ridge to the cliff line and follow it around to Pink Star Cave. Descend to Blacksmiths Creek via a gully to the south. To make the ascent, take either a gully to the west, or Long Gully to the south east. Walk back to the start. Partly exploratory. About 12 km. Scrambling and exposure.

This presentation will discuss Thomas Vallance Wran's significance in Australian art history and role of sculpture as architecture’s silent voice, inasmuch as ‘architecture is history’. Thomas Vallance Wran (1832- 1891) came to Rockhampton in 1870 as a selector and established himself in Balmain 2 years later. His sculptures can be seen on major Sydney monuments such as the General Post Office, The Great Synagogue, Annandale Creative Arts Centre and Founders Hall at Newington College. His last work is a coat of arms on Balmain Court House. We may take photographs of the speakers and the audience at this event. Read here for more details.

This is a foreshore urban walk, via Barangaroo, Cockle Bay, Pyrmont Bay and Point Park, walking through the Fish Market area where you can view the building of the new Fish Market, Pyrmont Bridge by Wentworth Park, Blackwattle Bay and Park, which is reclaimed land dedicated as parkland, with some interesting history to read, buildings and relics of interest and onto Glebe Point - see the Moreton Bay Figs,  Bicentennial Park to the light rail at Jubilee Park which takes us to Central Station. This section takes us on pathway over the Minnamurra River, see the spectacular river entrance, headlands, beaches and rock platforms to Kiama harbour and lighthouse. Those from Sydney take South Coast train departing Central 07:29, arriving Shellharbour Junction 09:34. Walk starts at Shellharbour Junction station and finishes at Kiama station. Part of the Great South Coast Walk  (http://greatsouthcoastwalk.net/) a long-distance walking route along the southern coastline of New South Wales, from Bundeena on the southern fringe of Sydney, to Mallacoota, just over the border in Victoria, 660km in total.   Limit: 15. Walking under the Highway near the RAAF Base we discover a disused railway tunnel and an old tramway, used to build the present railway line. We will follow the tramway to its end and see some more great views. Much, but not all the change in elevation on this walk is downhill. We finish at Lapstone Station. Booking essential. A few rough sections of track.

After backtracking a short distance we then traverse a new track through to Radcliffs lookout for lunch. After lunch it's a short backtrack to pick up a track down through a glen to the ruins of a farm house and then on to Lake Werri Berri where we make our way back to the cars. Hazards: Some rough track and unfenced cliffs.

Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longSocial | A trip where people will be encouraged to interact and chat with each other.(Fully Booked) Starting from Buxton Ave on the edge of Nattai NP, we follow a short distance on fire trails to pick up a track that leads us down to the W44 fire trail in the Blue Forest of Thirlmere Lakes NP. Head east on W44  to a locked gate and continue along W.E Middleton Drive until reaching a fire trail on our right and heading south. At the end of the fire trail is a lookout. From hear we pick out way off-track down the gully and head up the other side and make our way back to the starting point. Unfenced cliffs. Steep sections.

We walk from Meadowbank Station, over the old railway bridge across the Parramatta River and onto the Kokoda Track walkway and continuing along the picturesque river foreshore to the Cabarita Ferry wharf. Regular ferry services from here to Meadowbank and the city. Booking essential giving your NPA membership, mobile and emergency contact numbers, please, if you are new to my walks. Uneven ground in places and puddles. Some street walking and light traffic to contend with as well as some cyclists.

This is a spectacular area containing pagodas, gullies, cliffs and fabulous views. From the northern side of the Grose Valley you experience a different perspective. Tracks, off-track, steep descent, cliff edges, minor scrambling and a creek crossing. Only a Grade 4 due to the off-track sections.

We will visit the imposing Lawrence Hargrave monument, view the remnants of a coal mine and see the sculptures acknowledging the local Aboriginal, Wodi Wodi people, account of the 5 islands formation. Potential side trip to Robertsons lookout (adds 2km), and late lunch in the Botanical Gardens, time dependant. Two early climbs 210m and 180m.  This is one of Jims series of walks. 2 off-track sections including a long off-track scramble up a dry gully, unfenced lookouts, slippery in parts if wet.
