The Dry canyon,also known as Nobles or Wolgan View is an impressive easy to negotiate canyon of a spectacular nature with its mossy twisted in walls and constricted passages. On this trip i plan to exlore it in detail and include the truly beautiful and rugged clifflines,pagodas and slots directly to its north.

A 2-day pack walk. Numbers are strictly limited. Private property access is required. Day 1 - Park near Canobla Gap and ascend Mount Canobla on a razor blade spur. Continue to Mt Gundangaroo and camp near the trig. Water was found before in a nearby gully, however this is not guaranteed. Day 2 – Walk to St Johns Point and back, then descend to Canobla Gap Trail and walk back to the cars. Partly exploratory. Scrambling and exposure. About 10 km. Circumnavigate Thirlmere Lakes via Slades Road - Dry Lakes Road –
Western Lakeside Track – Slades Road – Western Ridge – Slades Road.
This is an opportunity to see all the lakes full of water after years of drought.
We will walk around all the lakes and climb a couple of ridges with off-track
sections. Roads, Fire Trail, tracks, off-track sections with mild scrub and creek

(Date Changed) Two loops close to Otford Gap. From Otford Station ascend to the Coast Track. Follow link track to Bald Hill, descend and follow faint tracks and rocky shoreline to Snake Gully. Ascend off track, sometimes on narrow exposed ledges and follow off track route to Bulgo Beach (shack village). From station follow roads and ascend off track section to Kelly Falls Knoll. Continue to Kelly Falls, Princess Marina track to Stanwell Tops. Descend to Stanwell Park and follow the route to start the Eastern Loop. Narrow exposed ledges, cliff edges, slippery conditions. This delightful and spectacular walk follows faint and rough tracks through low scrub with abundant wildflowers, crosses rock outcrops with excellent Aboriginal engravings and finishes at a point overlooking Stingray Bay and Cowan Creek, returning the same way. This is a field trip to explore the wonders of the Hay Plain and Kalyarr National Park. There are options for camping on the banks of the Lachlan River and also accommodation options in the nearby town of Hay.
Daily field trips will include a time and place for meeting so that people with various accommodation preferences can be accommodated. Note that arranging transport and accommodation is the responsibility of the individual participant.

This walk will pass several of the 30 whale tails installed for the Whale Tale Sculpture Trail. After crossing Pyrmont Bridge it goes to the Sydney Fish Markets where there will be time to purchase and eat a fishy snack. The route follows the scenic shore around Johnstons Bay to Darling Harbour, past the James Craig and ships moored outside the Maritime Museum, interesting architecture such as the “birds nest” and the Gehry building, and a walk along the Goods Line to Central Station. Booking opens 2 weeks prior to event. The track leads off to the south from the Bell's Line of Road between Mount Tomah and the Mount Wilson turn-off, and there is a sign indicating Mount Banks. You can park at the end of the road. Walk out to the lookout and return over the top. This is a lovely walk and not too difficult. There are superb views of the Grose Valley at the lookout and wonderful northern views as you come down off Mount Banks. There are many wildflowers at this time of the year. We'll visit Mount Tomah to see the beautiful waratahs and proteas on the way home. View |
