A week of bush regeneration based at beautiful Kylies Beach, hosted by Mid North Coast branch. Volunteers welcome to come for however long they like.
We have a trailer with bbq plate, urn, sink and all eating and cooking utensils. Dinner provided on Saturday night. Opportunity to walk around Diamond Head with its spectacular views, have a swim or drop a line in.

From Bill Andriske Oval in Mollymook, walk along the northern end of Mollymook Beach, up to Mitchell Parade and along to the Bannister Head Lookout. A minor but easy scramble to the rockshelf at Bannisters Heads can reveal seals and dolphins and a rarely seen perspective. Really – it’s amazing. Continue behind the houses and magic garden to return via the byways of Mollymook. Coffee etc. on the lawn at the oval. Grade 2-3: Easy/social. Contact leader essential for time and details. Part of the Great North Walk, this track goes down to Jerusalem Bay before climbing back through the sandstone plateau that forms the Hawkesbury valley. Connects with Brooklyn Dam Trail and passes through Brooklyn Dam campsite before ending at Brooklyn and Hawkesbury River station. The ascent from Jerusalem Bay is steep and requires a reasonable level of walking fitness. Hazards include creek crossing and slippery rocks. In this trip we not only walk the many beautiful tracks, but also learn from the local experts why the island is so special in the stories of evolution and conservation. You may also encounter one of the most unique birds which was the reason of David Attenborough's 1997 visit. There is a choice of 2 walks. Folk opting for the easier version will just do the usual ascent of Pigeon House, return to carpark, then drive to Yadboro camping area on the Clyde River for afternoon tea. The more adventurous will ascend Pigeon House by usual route for morning tea on summit. On descent leave usual track and go north to Wombat Ridge firetrail, then west down Longfella Pass, very steep rough descent on firetrails to reach Yadboro. A well-deserved afternoon billy tea with the other walkers to finish the day. Then hitch a ride with them back to Pigeon House carpark. Grade 3 or 4: Medium or Medium/Hard. Circuit around Glenbrook Lagoon. Road up to Mt Sion reserve. Roads to Lennox Bridge (oldest bridge on mainland Australia). Track up to Marge's L/o, then Elizabeth's L/o. Steep track down to the majestic Knapsack Bridge. Track under railway and M4 tunnel to Leonay Oval. Path to Nepean River. Cross Nepean River on GWH foot bridge. Paths through Tench Reserve. A section of road, Cross Yanghai footbridge over the Nepean River again. Footpath to Emu Plains Station. Possible option of a late lunch at O'Donoghues pub at own expense.
