A shorter day at 14km. We will spend 20 minutes or so outside John Barilaro’s office in Queanbeyan, sending a clear message about feral horse damage and meeting local supporters there. The walk continues on footpaths, a quiet bike path and a short stretch of bike lane on moderately-busy Lanyon Drive. Should finish in the industrial area of Hume before 2:30pm. Back to Heathcote Station. Tree roots, slippery surfaces, off-track and short scramble up Bottle Forest Trail. Some short ladders.

Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longNumbers are strictly limited. Park at GR 342 178 on Wolgan Road. Walk north west, then north, then north east towards Woolpack Gap. Stay underneath the cliffs and use the Amphitheatres Pass to climb on top of the escarpment. Once on top, walk west to the lookout point at GR 341 203. From here, walk north east and down underneath the cliff line above Red Rock Creek, at around GR 342 210. Traverse underneath the cliff line all the way to Woolpack Gap, descend through the pass and walk back to the cars. Exploratory. Scrambling and exposure.

As an option, the Canberra Bushwalking Club will offer one or two activities designed for the preferences of visiting Save Kosci walkers. Possibilities include Serenity Rocks in Tallaganda State Forest (1 hour drive, beautiful forest and ferns, viewpoint, 4 hours walking on track) or Orca Rock in Namadgi NP (1 hour drive, open woodlands beside a creek, steep climb with scrub, viewpoints, dramatic granite rock formations, 5 to 6 hours walking of which the last hour is on grassy track) or a couple of hours kayaking on Lake Burley Griffin.
