TS2596 JELLORE has a notice claiming to be the first trig station established under order of Governor Ralph Darling on 26 May 1828 by Thomas Mitchell who succeded John Oxley as Australia's Surveyor General.
So, probably “the first” trig station ever in Australia, and the first by Thomas Mitchel under Governor Darling. A mix of walking track and fire trail to the base of Mount Jellore. Track to summit has loose rocks but not too steep. View point past the trig to the north worth going to.
Grade 4 walk when including the last leg to the summit. A grade 3 walk to the south rock wall of the summit. Loose rocks on summit track. Location: Jellore State Forest Map: Mittagong 8929-2S and Hilltop 8929-2N Limit: 15. View |

From Wallacia we head downstream for 2km to the weir. Depending on conditions we may do portage below the weir to just short of the first set of rapids before heading back upstream. Upon returning to the launch point we will probably (optionally) head further upstream to enjoy some more of the Nepean River before returning.
Participants to provide their own craft & are required to wear a correctly fitted PFD.

Climb north and explore several pagoda ridges, before crossing into Gardens of Stone NP to visit Palatine Rock and Tarpeian Rock with their spectacular views. Then on to the amazing Pagoda Maze, best part of which is located in the Gardens of Stone SCA and is therefore not properly protected. Scrambling and exposure. About 8km. (Fully Booked) This park protects the largest surviving koala population in greater Sydney. Stokes and O’Hares Creeks enclose a succession of idyllic waterholes, three of which are accessed on this delightful walk. Keep looking up for those koalas!

From Bill Andriske Oval in Mollymook, walk along the northern end of Mollymook Beach, up to Mitchell Parade and along to the Bannister Head Lookout. A minor and easy scramble to the rockshelf at Bannisters Heads can reveal seals and dolphins and a rarely seen perspective. Really – it’s amazing. Continue behind the houses and magic garden to return via the byways of Mollymook. Coffee etc. on the lawn at the oval. View |

(Cancelled) The track meanders through the beautiful bushland of Sheldon Forest, along ridge tops, through open forest on the hill slopes and down to the creek side, following a stream that boasts a number of small waterfalls. The forest is one of the few remaining pieces of the Blue Gum high forest in the Sydney Basin. It is of high conservation status because it contains some of the last remnants of the endangered ecological communities. Echidnas, bowerbirds, water dragons, golden whistlers, pardalotes and powerful owls have been seen. At this time of the year, expect to see the Bonnet Orchids, Hyacinths and other flowers. Brush Farm is a heritage-listed former farm, residence and vineyard and now tourist attraction, community facility, exhibition venue and meeting venue. Brush Farm House's variety of uses over the years provides an unbroken passage to the past through pastoral experimentation, stately home of nationally and internationally known identities, reformatory etc., these uses follow a timeline from early settlement, colonial expansion, colonial representation through parliament and national independence, through Federation, to today. Its unique association with the European settlement of Australia and its early pioneers identifies the property as one of significance to the nation. We start walking from East Denistone, explore Denistone Park, Darvall Park where you will find Sydney's best blue gums, Brush Farm Park and Brush Farm House (opens at 1:30 pm) before heading to Eastwood for afternoon tea.
