10 Sep, Sun 9:00AM Point Upright and Durras Trails
Grade:3/6 Length 10km Milton Branch
Shauna G.
Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longSwim | A trip that involves swimmingWalk distance: 7.5 – 10 km. Stunning scenes including pristine beaches, remnant rain forest and spectacular cliffs with steep headlands, followed by a gentle forest amble along the shoreline of Durras Lake and its nature trail. The swell on the day will define how far we can travel along the rocky shoreline, but we will anyway have to pay close attention to the prevailing local conditions as we scramble over sometimes slippery boulders and possibly up a steepish cliff section.  Options for swim if conditions are right, but the water temperature will likely be too cold for all but the most hardy (or silly!).

This is a lovely track to walk. Located near Katherine in the Northern Territory. It is a 5-night through pack walk starting with a boat crossing of Katherine Gorge and ending at Edith Falls. Not too long each day with the most wonderful campsites, each with terrific swimming opportunities. Leave camp early each day and spend the afternoon in the water. A wonderful bushwalking experience! The only problem with Jatbula is that we see nothing of Katherine Gorge (except for a 5 minute boat trip across it).
