Hazards: Rough, steep fire trail and fallen trees.

Some tracks at Glenbrook closed due to flooding. The walk has changed as follows: Starting at Glenbrook Station, walk through Knapsack Reserve to Elizabeth Lookout, Yoogali Lookout overlooking Penrith Lakes, cross few creeks and walk along a variety of tracks, trails and roads to Blaxland Station.

This one includes the famous patch of bushland protected by the matrons of Hunters Hill and their Communist mates in the BLF, led by Jack Mundey. We are fortunate to have so many sites within easy reach by public transport. And, even better, this walk is on a day when we can have lunch at the Hunters Hill Club!

"The fleet" can then decide to paddle to the river’s navigable limit or, on the return paddle, land and explore Mystics Beach - part of the National Surfing Reserve in Killalea State Park. Requirements: Participants to provide their own craft & are required to wear a correctly fitted PFD. Distance will be a minimum 7km but an optional extension making it 14km. Tidal. Deep water. Possible wake from motorboats.

Perhaps the biggest thrill will be to explore the visually stunning Firebird Rocks. Although not a long walk, it will keep you busy and enthralled for many hours! Rock scrambling and off-track walking.

From here we will navigate our way to the Castle Hill Heritage Park. Time will be spent here walking around and exploring the various attractions which the park offers. The Castle Hill Creek(CHC) flows through this reserve and joins the Catti Creek further downstream. As we proceed to the Fred Caterson Reserve we will pass a couple of smaller parks along the CHC. The fire trail, pave walkways and bush tracks will lead us through this reserve to the Showground Metro Station,   The bush tracks could be rough, slipery and stoney. Limit: 15. View

Cars required for car shuttle to start and end of the walk. Steep and slippery sections and beach rock scrambling.

Grade: Easy. Wear joggers and a hat that doesn’t blow away. We walk from Lake Tabourie over the tombola to Crampton Island. Feel like a pirate or Robinson Crusoe as we take time to explore rock formations and rock pools and head inland to see whether we can spot some signs of wildlife. Morning tea on the island. We keep an eye on the tide and return to the cars around 11 am. Take morning tea and water. Limit: Preference given to children with guardians. All other participants will be put on a waitlist. View

Carrying old boots or gum boots for the entry and exit to the tunnel will make this section of the walk more enjoyable. Torch required. The local flora is certain to be a delight. The second loop will incorporate more variety on pristine sections with a route through the old Helensburgh Tip with city views and a good view of the Garawarra area. Slippery sections, creek crossings.
