Walk from North Ryde Metro Station to the Lane Cove River via Great North Walk (GNW). Cross the river at Epping Road and leave the GNW. Walk and explore the various tracks along the river to Fullers Bridge where we will pick up the GNW again. Hopefully, we will be able to view Fairyland on the opposite side of the river. Proceed back to the North Ryde Metro Station. Possibility of muddy and slippery tracks. Fallen trees.

Return via the track network on Mount Airly. About 12 km.

Park on the road from Mount Airly to Genowlan Trig where there is suitable space. Walk up the road to the top of the plateau and then take the road to Genowlan Trig. Leave this road at about GR 253 320 and head east to the top, southern end of the Valley of the Dinosaurs. We will then proceed down the valley stopping to explore as many slots as possible on both sides. Next, visit the Ultimate Slot and then return to the road and to the vehicles. Scrambling and exposure.

Part one will start from Ropes Crossing to Emu Plains.  Soon after we get off the bus, we will arrive at the historic Ropes Creek Station.  Then we proceed to Wianamatta Regional Park which has a variety of trees, vegetation, swamps and birds.  We walk through some newer suburbs of the area, lakes and walk to Emu Plains station via The Great River Walk.  It's quite scenic with an abundance of water birds including black swans. View Esther's future walks Slippery sections. As this is a 19km walk, We need to walk at a brisk pace of 5 kph so as to finish the walk at a reasonable time.

There are several points of interest along the way. A short day (about 4-5 hours). Scrambling and exposure.

The water leaves the pool to fall over the escarpment into the valley below. Indistinct and easily lost track, rough track, fallen trees, slippery rocks and unfenced cliffs.

Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longSocial | A trip where people will be encouraged to interact and chat with each other.(Fully Booked) (Leader changed) The walk begins at Manning Lookout near Fitzroy Falls. Here there are great views over Kangaroo Valley.  The walk then follows the escarpment past several view points and along a fence line across a couple of small creeks to Crystal Pool. The water leaves the pool to fall over the escarpment into the valley below. Return by the same route. Indistinct and easily lost track, rough track, fallen trees, slippery rocks and unfenced cliff edges.

Talk | A talk or slide show presentation.Chris Cobern from the Upper Goulburn Landcare Network in Victoria was heavily involved in the recovery efforts following the Black Saturday bushfires in 2009. He worked with local communities, government, and volunteers for many years to help the landscape heal and recover. In this webinar Chris will chat about how he navigated issues around sourcing funding and volunteers, providing training, supporting local landholders, and what he’s learnt that can help groups and organisations working in similar circumstances today. Chris will also be joined by Landcare Australia’s Rowan Ewing, who will give an update on our bushfire recovery fund activities to date, and what’s planned for the coming months. View
