Two to four days of walking nearby. Walks in Mt Wilson – Chinamans Hat and Pheasants Cave (4km) – grade 2, Mt Banks and exploration of the Banks Walls (exploratory off-track sections) – grade 3, Gooches Crater – grade 3, Rigby Hill Lookout and Pierces Pass to the Gross River – grade 3. Cathedral Reserve Campground is a large grassy open space with plenty of room for tents, Campervans and small motorhomes. Own transport is required, may be options for sharing cars depending on availability. Driving to walks will be shared amongst drivers and club rates will apply for passengers. Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longJoadja Nature Reserve was created in 2001. The management trail meanders through Eucalypt forest to a rocky lookout giving views over creeks and farmland. Returning to the Wombeyan Caves Road we cross and walk a little way to another fire trail and lookout towards Wombeyan Caves. This is a lovely lunch spot. Rough fire trail, unfenced cliff edges. Limit: 12. View

The pre-course on-line learning is a compulsory part of the course, and must be completed before you attend the face-to-face day. Theory content can be found on this link. This content will be in the theory assessment on the face-to-face day. A 1 day face-to-face session. The focus of the practical day will be practical skills and assessment and a theory exam. The Great North Walk is a 250 km walk from Sydney to Newcastle along bush tracks. The Sydney to Wondabyne walks were completed in 2019. This section is from the Wondabyne Station to the Old Moony Mooney Bridge. There will be a car shuttle between Hawkesbury River Station and the Old Mooney Mooney Bridge (30 mins 26 km), and participants must come in a car with no more than the driver and 1 passenger. The walk will start at Wondabyne Station after a train ride from Hawkesbury River Station. Rough track, rocks and slippery sections, unfences cliffs.

The Great North Walk is a 250 km walk from Sydney to Newcastle along bush tracks. The Sydney to Wondabyne walks were completed in 2019. Sections 9 to 16 will be continuous day walks from Saturday, 23 May to Saturday, 30 May staying overnight en-route; glamping for 3 nights, staying in a pub/hotel for 3 nights and at a caravan park for 1 night. To start the walk, all walkers will assemble at Noonaweena glamping site by nightfall on Friday, 22 May for an early start on Saturday, 23 May. Car shuffles will be required for all sections and participants will need to come in a car with no more than 1 other participant. Daily walks range from 11 km to 20 km and the walk rating are 3 and 4. Please contact Bandula or Sheila via email to get detailed information and to make bookings. Rough track, steep, rough, rocky and slippery sections, fallen trees and unfenced cliffs.

Leave the track and head north along the cliff edge for about 2.5km to GR 437 295 and then attempt to walk out to the end of the spur at GR 435 300. Pagodas, rugged terrain. Possible return via Petries Gully. Scrambling and exposure.

Day 1 - Park on Nullo Mountain Road at GR 398 740, walk Nullo East Trail and get down into Widden Brook at about GR 404 730. Continue down Widden Brook and camp depending on the progress, probably at Coricudgy Creek junction. Day 2 – Walk down Widden Brook, take water and climb towards Hool ‘Em Boy Point. Camp at one of several panoramic points, depending on the progress. Day 3 – continue up Nullo Mountain, join with Nullo East Trail and re-connect with the cars. 6M, M333E Partly exploratory. Scrambling and exposure.
