Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longPublic Transport | There are public transport options to and from this activity.(Nearly fully booked) See info on The Great West Walk  https://greatwestwalk.com.au/ This section is a variation of the Great West Walk(GWW).  The Great West Walk is from Parramatta to Penrith.  As the series Crossing the Blue Mountains is from Mount York to Emu Plains, we redesign the GWW to from Parramatta to Emu Plains. Part one will start from Ropes Crossing to Emu Plains.  Soon after we get off the bus, we will arrive at the historic Ropes Creek Station.  Then we proceed to Wianamatta Regional Park which has a variety of trees, vegetation, swamps and birds.  We walk through some newer suburbs of the area, lakes and walk to Emu Plains station via The Great River Walk.  It's quite scenic with an abundance of water birds including black swans. View Esther's future walks Slippery sections. As this is a 19km walk, We need to walk at a brisk pace of 5 kph so as to finish the walk at a reasonable time.

Walk upstream along Tootie Creek till Front Creek at GR 698 927. Climb through a cliff line using a slot, then follow the creek back to Hanlons Road North. There are several points of interest along the way. A short day (about 4-5 hours). Scrambling and exposure.

The walk then follows the escarpment past several view points and along a fence line across a couple of small creeks to Crystal Pool. The water leaves the pool to fall over the escarpment into the valley below. Indistinct and easily lost track, rough track, fallen trees, slippery rocks and unfenced cliffs.
