There is a section of off-track walking down to Apple Tree Creek and the creek itself has no track. The creek has a gorge and waterfall, a boulder field and clear bedrock sections. The creek mouth is in a tidal mangrove at the back of Apple Tree Bay. The reward for getting through the mangroves is the coffee shop is open at the boat ramp. The return to Mt Kuring-gai is by a track that follows an old water pipe from Apple Tree Bay to the maintained track from Mt Kuring-gai to Cowan Creek. This is a short walk about 4-5 Km with 220 m ascent. Hazards include slippery surfaces and rocks. Multiple creek crossings. High tide in mangroves.

Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longFind out why this area must be better protected for future generations. Drive or walk to GR 332 088 on Blackfellows Hand Trail. Walk north through the magnificent Temple of Doom and then continue exploring the pagodas on the east side of the ridge, heading north. Arrive at the high cliffs above Wolgan Valley and then walk to Lost Arc Point. After enjoying the stunning views, proceed under the cliffs and into Indiana Gorge. Check out the amazing Indiana Slot and the rest of this scenic hidden valley. Exit the gorge at the south end and make our way back to the cars. 8-12 km, depending on the road access. Scrambling and exposure.

Your love of a good climb and dramatic views will be required for this day walk. Starting at the Lockley Pylon trackhead, we follow the walking track to Du Faurs, desend on Shortridge Pass and cross Govetts creek. Continuing through Blue Gum Forest we then head up Perrys, before our return. We will enjoy the changing floral display, and colourful birdlife between walks. Joint walk with the Bushclub. Early Start for experienced walkers. Steep ascent and descent, scrambling, hard and rocky path. Mild exposure, creek crossing.

Track to Wollangambe continues past the pagoda outcrop. Following the ridge and spurs and down across the river. Continue on the other side to the crater. Return via same route to Bell. This walk is on the longer side, with a track that may be difficult to follow. Walk enters declared wilderness area. Strict group size limit of 8. Hazards: River crossings, rough track.

Spring is orchid time.  Sylvan Grove Native Garden has such an array of Rock Orchids. They are majestic flowers to admire.  https://www.cbcity.nsw.gov.au/environment/parks-reserves/sylvan-grove-native-garden  It has mulched paths winding through rainforest areas and areas with more sun, so there is a diversity of plants. It also has many ferns and rainforest plants that like a shady spot, and other plants like prostantheras and plectranthus that flower well in shade.

Along the way we will be looking down into the Valley of Dinosaurs as this ridge flanks this spectacular valley so this should be a very scenic walk indeed. Off-track and rock scrambling.

Accommodation | An activity that involves an overnight stay, using hard-roofed accommodation such as a cabin, hut or hotel.Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or long(Date Changed) As part of Parramatta to Shoalhaven Heads walks series, we will walk from Gerringong to Shoalhaven Heads over 2 days, staying Saturday night in or near Gerringong (make your own arrangements). Can walk one day or two. Saturday: walk Gerringong to Gerroa on pathways, beaches and rock platforms, return with car shuffle.  10km 100m Asc Sunday : walk the entire length of Seven Mile Beach, Gerroa to Shoalhaven Heads but some on sheltered bush tracks and with low tide the beach sections are a very easy nice walk on hard sand. Return with car shuffle. 12km 50m Asc Part of the Great South Coast Walk  (http://greatsouthcoastwalk.net/) a long-distance walking route along the southern coastline of New South Wales, from Bundeena on the southern fringe of Sydney, to Mallacoota, just over the border in Victoria, 660km in total.
