Incorporating the soon to be world famous Manly to Bondi Walk, we have planned a series of bi-weekly walks from Barrenjoey to Gerringong. Come join us in this historic & epic adventure. 21 walkers took part in section 1, Barrenjoey to Collaroy with 13 who completed the 21 km 450 m elevation route. Congratulations! This week we walk from Collaroy Beach to North Head via Dee Why Beach, Curl Curl Beach, Manly Beach & Shelly Beach. Featuring beaches, cliffs, magnificent headlands and historic sites, this urban coastal loop is one of Sydney's most spectacular walking tracks. Aim to explore the North-Eastern shores of Jervis Bay from a starting point on the Western side (Callala Bay preferred, but flexible). Possible destinations include Honeymoon Bay and the coastline towards Point Perpendicular, depending on weather conditions. We will be in the area from 25 February to 1 March and would plan to make arrangements the day before paddling, to take account of the weather. Most days would involve a round trip of at least 16km. Some experience paddling in open water essential and PFDs compulsory.

Next, climb up to the plateau, visit Jedi Point, then walk to the top of the ridge and north to about GR 438 215. Descend to the bottom of Hole-in-the-Rock gully. Traverse under the cliffs to Double Decker Cave, then descend back towards the cars via Double Decker Gully. About 9km. Scrambling and exposure. An informal welcome dinner will be held on Fri 1st March at the residence of Pat and Allen Schultz, 177 Brown Street Armidale. Arrive from 5.30 pm onwards, dinner served at 6:30pm. Armidale NPA members will be providing home-made dinner (please make a donation).
For those arriving by train, the location is near Armidale Railway Station (scheduled arrival is 5:35pm). Lifts will be available from the station if required.
