Grade:3/6 |
Length |
10km |
160m |
Sydney Branch |
John H. |
(NEW!!!) This walk is a great adventure with spectacular coastal views and gorgeous coastal heath bushland to walk through. Starting at Bundeena we walk along the beach and tracks to Jibbon Head, visiting the Aboriginal engravings on the way. We will mostly walk along the rock platform towards the Balconies where we join the coastal track back to Bundeena. There is a steep climb from the last beach up to the headland along an eroded track that requires a bit of a scramble. Booking essential giving your mobile, emergency contact and NPA numbers unless I already have them. It could be slippery and possibly slushy in places. Uneven rock surfaces. It is exposed and a more inland route, through sandhills could be taken if the weather is unsuitable for the coastal route. Location: Royal National Park Map: Port Hacking 91294N Limit: 20.

Kamakah Gully is a dry narrow canyon, almost dark in short sections as it winds through the sandstone.
We will walk from Bells Line of Road along the ridge beside Kamakah Gully and then enter the gully from a shoulder following the foot pad down. Once in the gully the walk follows the stream up into the canyon as it narrows and twists its way through the sandstone to the point where the canyon starts. Next the ridge east of the canyon will be followed to the cliff edges for views over the upper Grose River valley. Return along ridge to foot track from Jungaburra Brook and then to Bells Line of Road. An additional walk to Dargan Arch, dependent on time available. Wet slippery rocks, cliff edges.
