Starting at Cradle Mountain and walking through to Cynthia Bay. Planning to do as many side trips as possible dependent upon weather. Side trips include Cradle Mountain, Barn Bluff, Mount Oakleigh, Mount Ossa, Hartnett Falls, an additional 2 nights in Pine Valley, Mount Acropolis, and Labyrinth. Will need to pay for airfares, bus to and from track, one night accommodation at Launceston, one night accommodation at Cynthia Bay and one or two nights accommodation at Hobart. Need to pay for Overland Track Pass and Tasmania walking pass. Will need to be reasonably fit as we will be walking at a good pace to fit in the side trips. Previous pack hiking experience required. Even though there are huts all the way, still required to carry a tent, quality sleeping bag, sleeping mat, cooking gear, and food for 8 days. Steep ascent with full pack day one. The weather. Rocky, scrambling. Some exposure. Long distance.

We will then paddle further upstream to some very civilised table and chairs near Nungarry Rest Area for lunch before heading back. The walk returns to Lindfield Park via the picturesque Little Digger Track, and through a few shortcut alley ways in East Lindfield. Steep, rugged and slippery sections. Limit: 15. View

Expect dozens of waterfalls, jaw-dropping viewpoints and newly upgraded track and bridges along the way. Lots of steps.

Paddle | A canoe or kayak tripSlow pace | A trip where the leader will set an easy pace.From the camp ground at Beehive Point we will head up Yarrunga Creek for 4 kms to the head of waters. On the way we will view the magnificient stone walls of the original road from Kangaroo Valley to Mossvale. See the old road disappear into the waters of Lake Yarrunga and reappear further upstream.  On return to Beehive point we can optionally poke around the numerous inlets for some bonus paddles. Participants to provide their own craft & are required to wear a correctly fitted PFD. Deep water. Few exit points. Exposed in high winds. Approx 100 m of portage down a road to launch area.

Great scenery, lovely bushland, and two of the best of the huts to camp nearby. Even better, we spend multiple days near each hut (two nights at Pretty Plain and three nights at Wheelers). Access is via Dargals and Hell Hole Trails to Pretty Plain. We return along Pretty Plain and take the shortcut across to Wheelers Hut. Return is again via Dargals Trail. At the start and end of walk we stay at a Ski Lodge at Jindabyne with the usual BBQs on the deck overlooking the lake. A lovely walk with lots of relaxing time.

On this walk, we will see Waratahs, Grevillea Speciosa, Boronias, Dillwynia, Banksia, Wattles, Pea Flower, Epacris, Rice Flower, Christmas Bells, Hardenbergia and more. Bonuses are beautiful old trees, Grass trees, magnificent sandstones,  waterviews to the Barrenjoey and Lion Island, visiting Pearl Beach and Patonga beach. It is a long day. Not suitable for someone who needs to get back by a certain time. Hazards: Some steep and slippery sections. Limit: 10. View

Philip has an insider's knowledge of the The Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan. The garden showcases Australian flora amongst 416 hectares of rolling hills, lakes, lawns and gardens. In the late 18th century, the discovery of a new continent filled with exotic plants unknown to the rest of the world created waves of excitement in the field of botany. The Australian Botanic Garden displays approximately 2000 of these plants via themed gardens across the site as well as the Connections Garden, a four-hectare intensely cultivated space right in the heart of the Garden. Other features of the Garden include a restaurant, visitor center with gift shop, free gas barbecues and acres of Cumberland Plain Woodland to explore. Come Spring, the paper daisies become an attraction for visitors. Various species of Waratahs will be flowering too. After seeing the floral display, we will walk to the Sundial, Mount Annan Peak, the Blue Tree before leaving the Garden to visit Lake Yandel'ora before catching the bus home. Expect a long day. Not suitable for walkers who need to get back by a certain time. Limit: 10. View
