If its going to be a hot day we may not go all the way down to the Kowmung river but swim in the many pools created by the creek. Length 86km  263m Sydney Branch
Rob & Jayne G.
Accommodation | An activity that involves an overnight stay, using hard-roofed accommodation such as a cabin, hut or hotel.Cycle | A cycling trip(NEW!!!)
Want to try the road less travelled? This is a 2 day ride. It begins at Queanbeyan, riding to the historic town of Captains Flat, which is 43kms. There is an incline on the 1st day, rising from 600m asl to 863m asl. The great news is the return trip has plenty of downhill cycling. We will stay in the Captains Flat Hotel, which opened in 1937. When it opened, it had the longest bar in Australia and the Southern Hemisphere.
Please contact Rob Gibson 0452 070 345 or shirebabies@gmail.com ASAP, as the numbers will be limited and accommodation will need to be booked. There are a number of single, twin bed and double bed rooms available, which I've tentatively reserved until Wed 28th. It will be possible for some to share a room.  It's been many years since I've led this ride, so it's a great opportunity to see what was once a thriving mining town.

There are a few shortish swims and some scrambling down short sections of tape which are fairly easy and then there's the exit! This involves a scramble up a tree with spikes which sounds difficult but really isn't! Of course I'll set up a safety line before we climb the tree. Grade:4/6 Length 50km  2,200m Sydney Branch

Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or long(Fully Booked) A repeat of last year's walk which was just awesome; one of the very best in Kosciuszko area. Email for an information pack about the walk. A six-night full pack walk involving Daveys Hut, Kidmans Hut, and Mawsons Hut. Exact details will be determined by weather and other factors. We camp near these huts but not in them so everyone must be fully equipped for the variety of conditions in the area which can be very variable. We stay at ski lodge in Jindabyne for a night on either side of the walk with our regular BBQ overlooking the lake. We need some suitable cars in order to access the start of the walk. Always a pleasure walking in Kosciuszko area and this walk has everything: magnificent scenery; lovely bush; great campsites; and some challenging walking. Not to be missed!
