Walks will be in the RNP near the headwaters of the Hacking River which drains off the Illawarra escarpment.
The infamous Peabody Metropolitan Colliery is located further up Camp Gully Creek. The mine has illegally discharged coal waste material into these waterways on numerous occasions in recent years. If you’re curious about the ongoing impacts on the ecosystem downstream, this is a good opportunity to see the evidence for yourself.

![Talk | A talk or slide show presentation. Talk | A talk or slide show presentation.](/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/talk.png) (NEW!!!) Many of you love our native trees. We love the shade they provide. We love the wildlife they harbour. We love their appearance within our streets, our suburbs and our communities. Yet so many are taken out without little thought and that could be devastating as our climate warms.
Rhonda Daniels, a force within Australian Plant Society, is presenting to us about the importance of trees within our communities. Come and join her for this truly special event.
