Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longGrade: Suitable for primary school children. From the Granite Falls carpark we will walk to the lookout over the falls, and then back to the car. We will then drive to the picnic area under the George Boyd Lookout. The walking track leads us beneath towering cliffs of sandstone and winds its way through the rainforest. Looking carefully, you might see anything from wallabies and echidnas to lyrebirds and catbirds in this part of Morton National Park. At the end of the track, we shall scale a short ladder to enjoy unrestricted views of the beautiful Shoalhaven coastline. Back at the picnic area we stop to have lunch before returning back to Milton. Limit: Parents/guardians with primary school children.

Starting from Sandham road between Bell and Dargan, follow the track to Dargan Arch. Descend into gully beside the arch. The track fades as we go past the arch and cross the creek. Make way through bush and up other side of creek to spurs heading east until reaching ridge top and finding track to Goochs Crater. Follow track along ridge then down across Wollangambe River then up to next ridge and on to Goochs Crater. Return via same route. Depending on time may explore entrance to Billabong Canyon near Goochs Crater. River crossing, steep path, exposed sections

Walks will be in the RNP near the headwaters of the Hacking River which drains off the Illawarra escarpment. The infamous Peabody Metropolitan Colliery is located further up Camp Gully Creek. The mine has illegally discharged coal waste material into these waterways on numerous occasions in recent years. If you’re curious about the ongoing impacts on the ecosystem downstream, this is a good opportunity to see the evidence for yourself. Registration essential. Creek crossings. Wet feet.

Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or long(Fully Booked - Ask leader about waiting list) The Nattai River is a place not often visited but it's certainly worth the effort of getting there as it's a peaceful and spectacular place to spend a few hours searching out the odd platypus or wombat! On this walk we will descend to the river and follow it along to the Slott Way Track so making this an interesting circuit. By this time of year, the wattle should be starting to bloom, so this could be a colourful walk, too! Steep ascents and descents.

Starting with a walk, commencing at 9:00, from the corner of Sylvan Ridge Drive and Moon Point Road, Illawong to the Albert Delardes Reserve, a distance of about 3km downhill, through the Georges River National Park, mostly on a fire trail with some loose surfaces and rough sections. At the reserve activities will commence at 10:00 with Graham Avery, the Sutherland Council Aboriginal Development Officer, performing a smoking ceremony. Graham will then discuss Indigenous food sources and we visit a large midden in the reserve robbed by Europeans in the 19th century. Archaeologists Greg Jackson and Pam Forbes will lead us to several local sites of European importance including the first crossing of lower Georges River in 1843. Lloyd Hedges will then explain the quite unusual local flora. Morning tea will be kindly provided by Menai Wildflower Group. People who do not wish to do the optional walk can meet Graham in Delardes Reserve, Griffin Parade, Illawong at 10:00. The entry to Delardes Reserve is near the western end of Griffin Parade. The event should finish at about 12:00 and walkers will be driven back to their cars. Trip, falls.

Partly unexplored so will need to be agile. Possible need to swim/float a section. Some cliffs and slippery rocks.

But this fabulous feature of the Gardens of Stone is only part of the story, as getting there involves walking along a ridge of stunning pagodas, which beg to be climbed. This is a location few people go to, so come along and discover what you're missing out on! Rock scrambling and off-track walking.
