Today we kick up the Alphabet series of walk starting from "M"(not "A")The Maroubra to Bondi Beach Coastal Walk is a 12 km clifftop walk that combines together several shorter walks including the Bondi to Coogee Walk into a route that links together all the main beaches in Sydney's eastern suburbs The walk features stunning views, beaches, parks, cliffs, bays and rock pools. The beaches and parks offer various options to take a rest, have a swim or to eat at one of the cafes, hotels, restaurants or takeaways. There are some sections where you need to walk a short part along suburban streets, but the majority of the route is along footpaths This iconic coastal walk passes by many beaches including Maroubra Beach, Lurline Bay, Coogee Beach, Gordon's Bay, Clovelly Beach, Bronte Beach, Tamarama, Mackenzies Bay and Bondi Beach. Cooper Park's worth as a recreation area was recognised as far back as 1885 when the Government was asked to purchase land from the Cooper Estate for recreational purposes. It was not until 1913 that Sir William Cooper agreed to give the whole of the gully from Victoria Road, Bellevue Hill to Manning Road, Double Bay to the Council as a park. Subsequent additions over the years have brought the Park up to its present area of 38 acres (15 ha.) The creek running through the Park is largely natural and follows the line of a volcanic dyke of the Jurassic age while the hillsides support a wide variety of native trees and shrubs. Development over the years included extensive walking tracks/paths, with shelter sheds built and picnic areas laid out. Enjoy an ice cream and a swim at the end. Catch ferry or bus back to the city. Some muddy sections. Some steep climb T: Take ferry from Circular Quay at 9:05 am, arriving Rose Bay at 9:15 am View
