Preview of walk It's a picturesque section of the larger walk which will cover 570 km, linking the river's mouth at Broken Bay to its headwaters at Lake Bathurst, south of Goulburn. Council, with the NSW government, has been extending the path along the river banks as it passes through Emu Plains. In future, the walk will be extended towards Penrith Lakes and then on to Windsor, Wisemans Ferry and Berowra. Optional lunch at The O'Donoghues Irish Pub at Emu Plains. See menu.

Find out why it must be protected for future generations. Park at GR 238 326 at Airly Gap and walk up the western tributary of Gap Creek. Explore its northern branch, then climb out to the tops at about GR 231 335 and explore the pagoda spurs on the northern side of Gap Creek, moving east. Descend into Airly Gap. Scrambling and exposure. About 8 km.

Day 1 - Park near Canobla Gap and ascend Mount Canobla on a razor blade spur. Continue to Mt Gundangaroo and camp near the trig. Water was found in a nearby gully.
Day 2 – Walk to St Johns Point, then descend to Canobla Gap Trail and walk back to the cars. Partly exploratory. Scrambling and exposure.

From Apple Tree Bay follow track along Cowan Creek and then main track back to Mt Kuring-gai. Take track to Berowa Creek through Lyrebird Gully and follow Berowra Creek track to Berowa Station. The complete walk is long and suitable for experienced walkers. The first part that returns to Mt Kuring-gai could be suitable for walkers looking for a short walk but with challenging sections. Options for exit from walk at Mt Kuring-gai.   Walk may be postponed due to COVID restrictions.   Steep decent on rough track, cliff edges.

Indistinct and easily lost track, rough track, fallen trees, slippery rocks and unfenced cliff edges.

Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or long(Cancelled) Starting from Bundeena wharf, walk to Jibbon Beach, stop to have a look at the Aboriginal rock carvings, continue to Part Hacking Point, Shelly Beach, Cormorant Rock, The Balconies, Wedding Cake Rock, turn around at Marley Beach Lookout, back to The Balconies and then along the track back to Bundeena. Hopefully, we will see whales migrating North. Please bring a pair of binoculars if you have one. Steep and slippery sections, ridge walking, little shade.
