6 Jan, Sat 7:30AM | Glenbrook Gorge – Portal View Lookout – Tunnel View Lookout – Tunnel View Track – Glenbrook Creek
Grade:4/6 | Length | 10km | 300m | Sydney Branch
Mark G. | |||||
Glenbrook Gorge is truly a spectacular place and within its imposing sheer walls is a watercourse of great beauty with many swimmable pools and cascades to savour on a warm summer's sunny day! The last time I did this walk was in August when it was too cold to swim but hopefully we will be able to go for many a dip as we make our way down the gorge. The trip route/plan is to climb up to Portal Lookout and descend via Tunnel View Track. However, if it's going to be a hot day I'll simply return via the way we came, reversing our way back up the gorge. Rock hopping. Location: Blue Mountains National Park Map: Penrith 90303N Limit: 20. (Fully Booked - Ask leader about waiting list) Dargans Creek canyon is an excellent relatively easyish canyon for those who have done a few canyons before such as Birrabang as it doesnt have any abseils involved. It does have a few short swims and there is a climb out up a tree with spikes. Of course I'll bring a tape and I'd like people attending to wear a helmet and bring a wetsuit too. I have spare helmets for those needing one.Due to the few short swims,you should bring a PDF if you are not a confident swimmer. scrambling on slippery rocks and a few short swims.
