Canyon | A trip through a canyon (a gully surrounded by tall cliffs).Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longSwim | A trip that involves swimmingSlow pace | A trip where the leader will set an easy pace.(Fully Booked - Ask leader about waiting list) Deep Pass Canyon is quite possibly the easiest wet canyon you can do and you can normally manage to stay dry for most of of this trip if you are agile. Even then you'll only normally get wet up to your waist. There are no abseils but there are quite a few places where you need to haul yourself up short length ropes. Along the way you'll encounter many small and stunning waterfalls and cascades where a swim is certainly worthwhile experiencing! Before the canyon we will do a short sidetrip to the impressive Split Rock which has some interesting tunnels within its imposing structure. Rock scrambling and slippery bits.

If you wish to have dinner before, meet at Canton Cafe at Dixon Street at 6 pm.  If you prefer to just go direct to fireworks, meet outside the cafe at 7:30 pm.  Please indicate your option on RSVP. Bring a drink (not glass) and snacks while we wait for the fireworks.  After the fireworks, walk to Central to catch train or bus to go home, unless you wish to stay for the midnight fireworks to see the year away..
