On Saturday 19 September we will be meeting at Ascot Drive, Chippington Norton, 8:15am for an 8:30 start. Cycling mostly on quiet roads and bike paths to Canley Vale for coffee, then on bike paths to the M7 cycle way, then to Rooty Hill Pub for lunch (or BYO). Continue to Richmond Road cycle path, then onto Windsor. I have booked a room at the Windsor Hotel, 54 George Street, Windsor. Best to book your accommodation early, after contacting leader. Local Pub for dinner (possibility of a band Saturday night). Sunday 20 September, Windsor Mall Markets from 9am, departing Windsor approx. 10am. ""Picnic lunch"" on the way back. Returning to Chipping Norton between 4 - 5pm. Limited numbers. Approx. 65 kms each way. A social weekend away. View |

The pre-course on-line learning is a compulsory part of the course, and must be completed before you attend the face-to-face day. Theory content can be found on this link. Park cars at Airly Gap, then climb south east, inspecting historic graffiti and Aboriginal art sites along the way. Negotiate a series of pagodas and slots, including Genowlan Pinch, to arrive at the spectacular Airly Frustum. Continue climbing to the point above Airly Turret Slot and the stunning view. Join in for two-panel discussions facilitated by well-known ABC journalists Kerry O’Brien and Mick O’Regan focused on the bushfires in and around Nightcap National Park and their impact on Gondwana and lowland subtropical rainforests. Take a left fork leading to Rocky Waterholes Lookout and just past this junction look for a right turn which meanders along the ridge to Ahearn's Lookout. Start at Toongabbie Station at 10:11am, walk towards Toongabbie Creek on shared bicycle/foothpath, then follow the Settlers Walk to Third Settlement Picnic ground for early lunch and toilet. Along the Third Settlement we continue to Baden Powel place where the bush tracks start.
