This remote area first aid course is specifically designed to meet the first aid needs of bushwalkers, wilderness guides, and people who work or live in remote locations. The course covers everything from comprehensive first aid treatments to aeromedical evacuation, long-term care, self-care, and contingency planning. This course is focused on the safety of the first aider and extended care of an ill or injured casualty where help is likely to be delayed or inaccessible. Course Duration – 3 days (face to face workshops with pre-work). More information at First Aid Training. This training will ONLY be available for participants over 18. View

It crosses the entrance of the lagoon before climbing up to the headland then follows the shore north to Dee Why. Further up the beach it crosses the mouth of Dee Why lagoon. Be prepared to wade across the lagoon entrances. Some rough tracks, beach, swampy areas. Hazards: wet feet

A rough fire trail leads out to a trig point overlooking Kangaroo Valley.  On the return, a side track leads out to Brown Mountain lookout for views over the south coast.  Aboriginal rubbings are seen on both tracks. Hazards: Rough track, unfenced cliff edges, slippery after rain.

The headland of the rifle range was closed.  This time we will start at La Perouse & walk back to Little Bay/Maroubra, as it is easier  to get to & meet there. Feel free to exit at any point. We will try to explore the historical Bare Island & the rifle range headland. This is a gentle & interesting walk with spectacular views with walks in streets, bush tracks, headlands & beaches. Beautiful wild flowers are already in bloom. We saw quite a few whales at closer range last time. View

Generally downhill with a total descent of 200m. Car shuffle required. Hazards: Uneven and possibly slippery track in places. Mostly downhill.

On via well walked tracks through some stands of massive old growth trees. Staying on the western side of the Hacking River with some up and down and easy creek crossings. A steadier track back up to the station on via the northern end of the railway tunnel. Limit: 15. View

We will see scribbly-ghost gums, many species of native trees & plants. We could see wildlife such as echidnas, lizards, wombats, kangaroos & wallabies. If time we can looks at exhibits. Coffee afterwards and bring your lunch.
