(Cancelled) The plan is to attend Richard Wagner's The Ring Cycle in Brisbane (Queensland Performance Arts Centre) between 6 November and 12 November. On the 4 opera days, we'll do shorter and river walks (grade 2). On the non-opera days, we'll do more adventurous day walks on the coast or the Scenic Rim (grade 3-4).Itinerary is to be decided closer to the date.
You will need to
1. Book your own Ring Cycle tickets, from $380 to $2200
2. Fly and hire a car in Brisbane, or drive from Sydney

On the south side of Mt Victoria is a maze of tracks, superb lookouts, fascinating historical caves and some beautiful unburnt bushland which we will explore and photograph. Highlights include Bushrangers, Coxs, Ross caves and some amazing viewing points just to name a few!

It takes in the Burnt Bridge & Cut Rock Trails, Muirs Lookout, with great views from Lake Macquarie to Tuggerah Lakes, plus the fabulous Muirs Lookout Walking Track with its rainforest atmosphere. From Neates Glen after sunset we will descend into the world of the night creatures and walk through the Grand Canyon, exiting at Evans Lookout Track. The prime reason for doing this walk is to see the amazing displays of glow worms which leave the colony in the Glowworm tunnel for dead with their brightness and sheer numbers. Plus we might see possums, gliders, the odd frog and experience this world heritage walk in a completely different way. People doing this walk are encouraged to do the walk to Mt Victoria beforehand and to stay in the mountains to avoid the long drive home.
