Walk to about GR 276 193 and climb north to explore several pagoda ridges, before crossing into Gardens of Stone NP to visit Palatine Rock and Tarpeian Rock with their spectacular views. Then on to the amazing Pagoda Maze, best part of which is located in the State Forest and is therefore unprotected. About 10 km. Scrambling and exposure. Turn north, then east and make our way to the cliff edge at about GR 397 160. From here, commence exploration of this dissected terrain going south. (Fully Booked - Ask leader about waiting list) Ahearn's lookout is found by following the beginning of Starlight's Track. Take a left fork leading to Rocky Waterholes Lookout and just past this junction look for a right turn which meanders along the ridge to Ahearn's lookout. This gives views over the Nattai with Mt Jellore easily identified. Return by the same route.
