Find out why this area must be better protected for future generations. Park at the bottom of Angus Place Trail and follow it till about GR 312 052. Descend into a gully to the south west and traverse the extremely dissected pagoda terrain, generally following the cliff line, for as long as the time allows. Exit to Angus Place Trail and walk back to the vehicles. About 8 km. Scrambling and exposure. Location: Newnes State Forest View |

From the Visitors centre we will descend to Glenbrook gorge and follow the Gorge downstream, finding our way along river via rocky terraces, sand bars and several crossings of the creek. Then we ascend up to Portal Lookout which will involve some climbing of the ropes set up there already and, after a walk along the top fire trail, descend the stunning Tunnel View ridge back down to Glenbrook creek. Lastly we retrace our footsteps back up the track to the Visitors centre. Rock hopping, several crossings of Glenbrook creek and pulling yourself up the ropes onto Portal Lookout. Booking opens 2 weeks prior to event. A walk through foreshore bushland near Chatswood, Sydney. A nice way to get into bush without leaving the suburbs with middle harbour by your side. Expect a variety of vegetation and landscapes a long the way plus some view points. It goes past or through rainforest, mangroves, the river and some street sections. It does have some steep sections and steps along the way. A great spot to get some exercise without having to go far.

LEADER: LINH QUACH We start from Circular Quay and walk around the Opera House to the Royal Botanical Gardens. If you are lucky, we will see the seal on the foreshore. Spring is a wonderful time to visit the Gardens when Rock orchids are in bloom. Paper daisies, tulips, and other flowers are also in bloom. The Calyx is alive with exhibition and colours. Visit the herb gardens and the ponds. At 11:30 am, we will join the Government House tour to see its spendour with modern and old world decorations. See the magnificent modern carpet recreation of the original from 200 years ago. The dining room is flooded with light and warmth from the sun. Learn about the architecture and the history from the tour guide. See two very Grand pianos. The ornate windows all have lovely views of the garden. The tour ends at the garden of the Government house. We will walk around the beautiful garden before heading back to Circular Quay via the sculptures and the footbridge. (Cancelled) Sadly this reserve looks like been completely closed indefinitely/permanently due to the hazardous nature of the railway cuttings and tunnel resulting from rains earlier this year.
A circuit walk which includes the old tramway track, tunnel and lookout giving views towards the Blue Mountains. NB: We will be varying this walk from the supplied GPX file to avoid the closed track sections resulting from rains earlier this year.
