The vegetation along most of the track is Sydney Sandstone Gully Forest with its Banksias, Angophoras and diverse shrub understorey. Enjoy a shady walk along the coolness of Strangers Creek surrounded by Sydney Sandstone Gully Forest. Strangers Ck has numerous water holes and rainforest species including magnificent Treeferns, Coachwood and Lillypilly trees. Be sure to
listen out for frogs. Look out for the long necked turtle, water dragons, ducks and eels. The boardwalk through the mangroves gives excellent access to the mangrove forest. At low tide visitors can observe animals such as crabs and snails, during a spring high tide the area is crowded with hungry fish. It is an excellent site to observe the contrast between wet and dry environments. Magdala Park is part of a large bush corridor running beside the Lane Cove River. 1=7. One Dreaming Creation story. Seven walks. Seven days. Seven sisters. Seven rivers/creeks. Seven valleys. Up to 70,000 years. Seven million stars. A photographic journal of listening/learning at camps and along ancestral pathways in Gundungurra Country (Southern Blue Mountains).
Our speaker, Yvonne Kaiser-Glass, is an archaeologist who has been privileged to be invited over the past 7 years, to participate in a 7-day off-track walk through Gundungurra Country in the southern Blue Mtns. Its premise is you have to walk Country to understand Country and from that respect follows.
This talk promises to bring a unique insight into areas of the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area that most of us will never see.
Due to COVID, attendance is limited to 30, so booking is desirable, just by replying to this email or by the phone number below. Those attending must be double vaccinated. Entry is by gold coin donation.

This walk starts from suburban Northbridge with a view over the magnificent Long Gully Bridge. We reach the bridge via steep bush tracks and steps. It follows roads skirting the valley to Folly Point then descends to Primrose Park before climbing out past Willoughby Falls, Green Park and the Cammeray Golf Course. We walk via Anzac Park to St Leonards Park from where we can enjoy a spectacular view over the Harbour. A final descent brings us to the Harbour Bridge and Milson’s Point Station (enthusiastic walkers can continue across the Harbour Bridge to finish at Wynyard station - an extra 3km). Steps, slippery tracks, golf balls. Map: Sydney Street Directory Limit: 14.
