Don't worry about your waist line. A few leaders would put on walks of various lengths and difficulties before and after the feast. Examples are as below:
1. Walk from Cowan to Crosslands Reserve
2. Walk from Mt. Kurring-gai Station
3. Walk from Crosslands Reserve to Berowra Station
4. Walk from Crosslands Reserve to Mt. Kurring-gai Station
Or you can simply drive to the Reserve.  Distance from your home is not an excuse. You can camp there even!!
The picnic is self-catered. Bring a plate to share. You can choose to make a note donation instead of bringing a plate. You can do both as money raised will go to NPA. Please mention if you will be bringing a plate as we don't want to end up with just Money but no food.

Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longPhotography | A trip that has a strong focus on encouraging people to capture photographs.11km walking track is near Wisemans Ferry and follows a steep mountain ridge through lush gullies, past clear running creeks in Dharug National Park. This rough track will really get your heart racing with several steep climbs along the way. 11km walking track is an exhilarating challenge for adventure seekers. This beautiful circuit walk goes through a range of dry and wet forest along the valley, and offers some great views. There are plenty of grass trees along the way to add to the scenery and the creek crossings are very picturesque. The side trip to a large Aboriginal engravings site alone is worth the entry price! Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longPublic Transport | There are public transport options to and from this activity.The 1813 crossing of the Blue Mountains was the expedition led by Gregory Blaxland, William Lawson and William Charles Wentworth, which became the first successful crossing of the Blue Mountains in New South Wales by European settlers.  Mal January did not exactly follow the original route but mapped out his hiking route and led a group to cross the Blue Mountains twice.  Thanks to his generosity for permitting me to use his route, we can repeat this epic journey to cross the Blue Mountains. We take the 7:23 Blue Mountains train every Sunday, with some exceptions. No need to RSVP but before you set foot make sure you check NPA site to see if walk is cancelled due to snow, fires, heat, storms, or track closures. If you like long walks, there is an option for you to walk back to double the distance. Steep and slippery sections.

Section 2 follows section 1 on the same day.  It is designed for people who want to do long walks.  Glenbrook Tunnel, Lennox Bridge and Glenbrook Lagoon are the highlights of the walk. The disused Glenbrook Tunnel is steeped in history. It was used as a secret site for mustard gas storage in World War II and in recent years housed a mushroom farm that one local MP called a "doss house". The Lennox Bridge is a heritage-listed road bridge at Mitchells Pass. It is the oldest stone arch bridge on the Australian mainland. https://arhsnsw.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/1806lapstone.pdf Lunch will be at the Glenbrook Lagoon. Glenbrook Lagoon is a rare upland wetland that is one of only three of its kind in the entire Hawkesbury-Nepean System. The lagoon provides habitat for flora and fauna species that are otherwise unusual in the area. Steep and slippery sections.

Then we travel down past the Great Lakes of Adelaide, Meston and Junction to the interestingly named Never Never and the Mersey River which we follow through to the Overland Track at Harnett Falls. From this point we go south then north into Pine Valley for 2 days of magic, climbing the Acropolis, the Labyrinth and other scenic gems. Finally, there is an easy walk down to Lake St Clair for a ferry ride to Cynthia Bay and a pickup with bushwalkers transport back to Hobart. Rock scrambling and a bit off-track walking in the Never Never, potential extreme weather.
