After checking out the spectacular view into the Shoalhaven River from Badgerys Lookout we descend 500m down the track to the river. Along the river we have several options: one option is checking out Tryers Gorge just upstream of Sparkes Buttress and another is to wander along the casurinas before having lunch and then ascending back to the cars via the same route. With train station at each end this walk explores the ridges and valleys around Berowra Waters. There are
plenty of excellent views, especially at Naa Badu Lookout and the many creek vantage points along the way. There are some solid climbs on this walk so be sure to allow enough time. Walk past the present prison farm then out to the Nepean River at the end of Russel St. After a wander through Emu Plains we cross the new footbridge over the Nepean and on to Penrith.
