(Updated Details) Sphinx Track to Mt Kuring-gai via the Pipeline Track at Apple Tree Bay. A bus ride from Turramurra Station will take us to the start of the Sphinx Track and then descend to Bobbin Head where we will have morning tea. As a New Year treat the leader will provide morning tea (gluten free tucker). From Bobbin Head we go up the Pipeline Track via Apple Tree Bay to Mt Kuring-gai Station. Walk will finish before lunch but you can bring lunch and have it before we reach Mt Kuring-gai Station, especially if we have just missed the train. Joint walk with The Bush Club. We will be paddling from 2/3 base camps and only doing day paddles each day. A canoe trailer will be used for the turnarounds each day. Both rivers are grade 1/2 with gravel races and willows. If you haven't done snorkeling before, this is a good chance to learn. You need to buy a properly fitted snorkel. Bring drinks, snacks, sun protection and towel. There is a kiosk at the beach.
We are starting the day late because low tide is at 5 pm. We might finish the day with dinner at a pub. Surf.

Drive to approximately GR 468 058 on the Deep Pass Trail. Head down a spur trending slightly west of south and then south as it nears Dingo Creek. Visit Howling Arch, an amazing natural feature. Enter Dingo Creek and progress downstream for about 1.3km, visiting the scenic Pool of Diana on the way, continue underneath high cliffs to GR 476 048, the start of a north, north west trending ravine. Follow the ravine up, visiting the spectacular Pool of Aphrodite along the way, to eventually reconnect with the trail and the vehicles. All off-track, some rock scrambling and exposure.
