Ascend Baker Ridge until about GR 468 740. The objective now is to find water in the gullies below. Camp at Baker Ridge and visit Holbrook Castle. Distance about 6km. Day 2 – Saturday 24 March. With day packs only, walk south, then east on Baker Ridge, through the labyrinth of spurs, till about GR 490 722. Return to the camp. If time permits, visit Sheep Station Point. Distance 8-12km. Day 3 – Sunday 25 March. From the camp, walk into a side gully to the west and down to Widden Trail and the cars. Distance 6km. Exploratory. Scrambling and exposure. Park at GR 430 228 on Wolgan Road and make our way up Minotaur Lair Gully, then use Minotaur Pass at GR 419 230 to climb up to the top of Koopartoo Mesa. From here, walk SW and find a way down into a tributary of Koopartoo Gully at around GR 415 226. Moving SSE, investigate slots and pagodas until about GR 416 222. From here, walk W and use the tape to descend at GR 414 222, or, if time allows, traverse to GR 413 220 and use a known double tape descent route from GR 414 221.
