(Updated Details) The middle section of Dumbano is my favourite. No abseils. Early start and a long day. Park at GR 486 958 on the Wollangambe Fire Trail. Walk north east and visit the amazing Poised Rock, then descend into the canyon at GR 499 982. Exit the canyon at GR 522 985 and use a series of ridges to get back to the cars. You need to be a good swimmer and have dry bags, wet suit and helmet. About 12k plus 3k in the canyon. Location: Blue Mountains NP Map: Wollangambe 89312S View |

Not far, not fast. An easy and gentle downhill stroll to the Georges River, with heathland to explore on one side, and rainforest in the gully. There are wildflowers here that are seldom found elsewhere other than in the upper Georges. Orchids and ferns. We can take our time to fossick through this most interesting area.
