Not far, not fast. An easy and gentle downhill stroll to the Georges River, with heathland to explore on one side, and rainforest in the gully. There are wildflowers here that are seldom found elsewhere other than in the upper Georges. Orchids and ferns. We can take our time to fossick through this most interesting area. Park one car at Range Hill on Bells Line of Road at GR 558 834 and another one at GR 575 852 on Bells Line of Road. From the first car, enter the canyon at GR 557 855. Continue to GR 575 862. Walk up to the second car. Bring helmet and dry bags. Wet suit recommended. Exploratory. You must be a confident swimmer. Scrambling and exposure. Find out why this spectacular and threatened area must be protected for future generations. Park at GR 396 071 off Sunnyside Ridge Road and walk east to the head of a tributary of Wild Gorge. Descend it, visiting Dome Cave along the way, then explore both branches of the gorge, including Pinch Point Circle. Move south east and out towards Carne Creek. Locate a ledge that leads towards Cosmic Cave. Exit via Split Rock Point and Pass. Re-connect with the cars.
