It’s a gentle, meandering river with tree-clad banks, impressive sandstone rock formations and a fascinating history. We’ll even pass Fairyland and learn about Australia’s most intriguing murder mystery! Explore the river from the weir at Fullers Bridge to Sugarloaf Reserve, near the harbour. This paddle marks the 60th anniversary of NSW National Parks Association and is being organised by NPA member and Prudence Tucker award winner Tony Carr. You’ll be back in time to join the lunch celebrations. PFD's compulsory.

Join us in a search for Dragons - how many can you spot? Have a go using our survey equipment to see how we study Dragons. What kind of habitat do they like to use?   • Record demographics and locations of Dragons spotted along the walk
  • Record Flight Initiation Distance and Flight Distance of each Dragon we see
  • Measure ground temperature and canopy cover
  • Note local flora that forms Dragon habitat
  • Collect rubbish in an effort to improve habitat condition

One of the classic routes in the Katoomba area past numerous waterfalls and of course those knockout views as we walk below the clifflines between Leura and the Narrowneck. A good walk, especially on a hot day. Some creek crossings so can be slippery in parts.
