At the reserve activities will commence at 10:00 with Graham Avery, the Sutherland Council Aboriginal Development Officer, performing a smoking ceremony. Graham will then discuss Indigenous food sources and we visit a large midden in the reserve robbed by Europeans in the 19th century.
Archaeologists Greg Jackson and Pam Forbes will lead us to several local sites of European importance including the first crossing of lower Georges River in 1843.
Lloyd Hedges will then explain the quite unusual local flora. Morning tea will be kindly provided by Menai Wildflower Group.

Many of you love our native trees. We love the shade they provide. We love the wildlife they harbour. We love their appearance within our streets, our suburbs and our communities. Yet so many are taken out without little thought and that could be devastating as our climate warms. Rhonda Daniels, a force within Australian Plant Society, is presenting to us about the importance of trees within our communities. Come and join her for this truly special event.
