This trail explores two very different inner-city valleys and their waterways. From Canterbury Station we walk to the Cooks River Valley and follow this on a shared bicycle path through parklands and playing fields close to the river. At Tempe we leave the river and cross over to the Wolli Creek Valley and follow this along easy bush tracks to our finish at Bardwell Park. Bookings only from the week before the walk please. If you think of Manly only as a beach, come along and change your mind. This walk climbs the hills around Manly. Starting at Manly Wharf, it heads up and over to Little Manly Beach, then crosses the ridge to Fairy Bower Beach via St Patricks College. After a long flat stretch along the promenade from Steyne to Queenscliff beaches, it climbs towards Freshwater. From the top, the walk descends to Manly Creek. It finishes with a climb to the Kangaroo statue, returning via Ivanhoe Park and Tower Hill Park to Manly Cove. Steps. Map: manly Limit: 14. View |

Park at the locked gate on Bowen Hill Trail, GR 689 967. Head north on an old fire trail, then continue on the ridge till GR 682 987. Descend northwards under the cliffs and traverse north east till GR 690 993. Turn south and scramble to Skylight Cave and then two more caves above. From here, traverse north east and investigate a few cliff lines along the way. Climb out on the main ridge and walk back to cars.

(Updated Details) Two separate walks to two peaks in different areas of the beautiful Guula Ngurra NP, with a minor car shuffle. The Baldy Billy Peak walking track is an out-and-back walk with spectacular views from the summit down into the Wollondilly valley below. The Mt Penang loop walk follows a pleasant, well-formed track up to the summit of Mt Penang with its panoramic views. Starting at the end of White Cross Road, walk along Shaws Ridge Trail, Blue Gum Swamp Track, Bees Nest Hill and Springwood Ridge Trail to Grose Head South Lookout, and then along a steep eroded track to Grose Head South and back. Could visit the Grotto on the way to or back. We will walk through the beautiful Blue Gum Forest and enjoy the great views over the Grose Valley from the lookout. The track is fine up to the lookout, but beyond that, it is eroded and involves a bit of scrambling. Cars required for the car shuttle from Springwood Station to the start of the walk. If you're looking for a scenic workout, the Bilgola Plateau loop is a great walk. This walk follows a good track to climb from Newport Beach through Attunga Reserve, with views over the coastline. It descends a little before climbing steeply through the breathtaking rainforest gully in the Crown of Newport Reserve. Suburban roads lead up the Bilgola Plateau and a glimpse of Pittwater . The walk returns downhill with a steady descent through beautiful Angophora Reserve, then steeply to a stand of Cabbage Tree Palms. McPhails Fire Trail is a downhill walk from the highlands into Kangaroo Valley. The Pipeline Lookout is an excellent morning tea stop before descending through rainforest and around Mt Carrialoo into the valley.

(Fully Booked) We have an opportunity to explore some of the best of the North Shore of Sydney Harbour. Starting at Balmoral Beach with its little jetty and huge fig trees; to Middle Head to explore fortifications and cliff top views beyond the Heads; then through angophora trees to Georges Heights and barracks converted to artist studios; and on to Clifton Gardens for lunch. Then we will walk beside secluded bays to the navy memorials at Bradley’s Head. Then it is a short walk to Taronga Zoo for a Ferry to Circular Quay and trains home. Limit: 20. View |
